I am truly amazed by how masterfully crafted this game is. It's no-nonsense, packed with content, and worth every penny.

Multiplayer is where it truly shines, though. The way it plays out really reminds me of "Diplomacy" sessions, which is another gem.

Incredibly chill and polished wargame by a solo developer. Has tons of content and all of it are moddable.

I can just sit back, and conquer hexes without struggling with an overly complicated user interface or unnecessarily complex game rules, unlike similar titles.

The mobile version is also enjoyable.

Multiplayer desync issues are incredibly annoying.

I was really looking forward to playing with my friends, but unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy it due to the numerous game-breaking bugs.

We encountered connection problems, frequent crashes and freezes that made the game unplayable. It's frustrating that such a promising title with great potential is ruined by technical problems that should have been fixed before release.

It's also disappointing that the developers seem to be slow in addressing these issues and providing adequate support. I would not recommend this game to anyone who wishes to enjoy multiplayer until the problems are resolved.

In our latest attempt, the game couldn't manage to place players into their chosen teams.

- Do not ever use UI or HUD to help the player, keep the game clean.
- Get rid of the fancy-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ English accent using voice acting.
- The core premise of Gothic is that you are absolutely worth nothing, including whatever you own or portray to others. This must be kept in mind even if it means not starting with the look of "slightly armored".
- Do not ever use cutscenes and keep the player immersive. This game was not designed to railroad the player.
- Don't tell me "Diego will remember this" when I say something to him. Let the game show it to me immersively when the time comes. This is equivelant to a dungeon master telling his players the plot outside the game.
- There is absolutely no point on exploring the places surrounding you for loot when you show me a HUD over it through 2 rock walls behind. This is the exact opposite of what Gothic was famous for.
- Do not ever touch the game's overall atmosphere of "you're ♥♥♥♥, and this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ world - and ♥♥♥♥ is usually dark" - both in terms of character development and aesthetic atmosphere.
- Lose the shaking of the camera when a combat begins.
- Lose the console controller dialogue screen. I was almost flipping my "KEYBOARD" when I saw that.
- Camera should be adjustable and behind the character just as the original one. Don't use the close shoulder approach.
- Do not use "classic medieval fantasy soundtracks" for any part of the game. There is a specific vibe to this game's originalty that feeds from its name; "Gothic".
- I have absolutely no idea how to describe this to a milennial mindset, but the combat system of Gothic 1,2 was literally so much fun because of the keyboard/mouse interaction. I hated the mouse-clicking combat.
- The animation progress of "being ♥♥♥♥ at everything" must be portrayed very, very wisely in everything the character does. Just because the character has a broken sword does not mean that atmosphere is instantly given. My character was swinging it like an absolute pro. Remember what made the character retarded at the beginning of his journey in the original game, and how its progress felt like striking a diamond with your pickaxe.

--

To whoever is in charge of this game, individually or as a team, there is absolutely no point in investing so much time on a project just to diminish what made it great. Time and time again the big companies are trapped in this mindset.

Just copy every piece of gameplay exactly same from the original game and make it more accessible to the younger generation. The goal here should not be the satisfaction of seasoned players. What made the original developers' creative juices flow should be channeled to the younger generation who's used to playing dumbbed down RPGs with super-hero ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ - with every piece of aesthetic putrid they hold.

I have so much more to say, but I wish you good luck in this journey. I also would like to appreciate the fact that you're testing the waters before going all-in on it.

Official screenshots of the Steam store page were taken from a console/gamepad session. Enough said.

I really, really wish a company could make a more atmospheric and well designed RPG than this.

Even though the Witcher 3 is a massive production with amazing graphics, I find it the most cringy, overhyped RPG ever. I generally find RPGs made for both PC and Consoles quite lame to be honest. Main character's super-hero cool guy voice was one of the reasons that made me refund this game. I'd even describe Gothic 2 more atmospheric than this.

Not my taste at all, 2/10.

Even tho I find Paradox's DLC marketing a bit greedy, you gotta give it to them. After all, it's the reason I 'still' come across stuff that I haven't seen before.

Best medieval dynasty simulator/grand strategy game ever made.

This is a game I'd recommend if you're into classic Gothic series(yes, I meant first 2). Because personally I'm having a hard time finding a fantasy-RPG in similiar quality. I once finished this(not in steam) and going for the second nowadays. The world has multiple factions with their own lores and small worlds to interact with so it makes it a lot more replayable. So only beginning&ending are the same.

It's not a game where it hands you everything you need, It delivers that good old feeling of starting from the bottom and earning everyone's respect, choosing sides etc.

I really dig the combat system in this game, it feels rewarding to kill someone because you have to use your reflexes rather than smashing buttons. Enjoyable quests and dialogs, really good world design and balance.

A masterpiece.

9/10.
