I thoroughly enjoy this game. People are right, it's missing a ton of polish, and some balance decisions are... odd. But I haven't been able to put it down, the economy is exactly what I wished Victoria 2's was, and you'll have a blast making green line go up.

This will be a short review as it is 1:45am and I have just finished my first, and only, play-through.

The long and short of it is that this is an incredibly satisfying game, and it almost perfectly scratches a management and aesthetic itch for me. It's one of the best terraforming sims out there, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Mars transform.

However, the downsides are numerous

- Strange and frankly poor balance
- The gameplay is EXTREMELY slow, especially past the halfway point
- Tooltips and hints are minimal, and some mechanics are completely opaque
- Feedback on your actions is limited, and you can only find out what most things do by trying them and waiting literal hours to see if they're making a difference.
- Logistics are made painful by the above mentioned lack of feedback and info

And most of all, THE GAME IS ALMOST AS BARREN AS THE PLANET IT'S SET ON
There is nowhere NEAR enough content to cover the average ~13 hr playthrough, let alone any subsequent ones. The mechanics are all basic and there is only one or two methods to affect any terraforming aspects. The game becomes a complete slog as you move towards the endgame, and I only forced myself to see it through because I knew if I shut it down now I'd never open it again. The story is lackluster, if interesting at the start, and there's even essential functionality stuck behind paid DLC (The ability to do anything on the oceans that will be covering half of your planet!!)

This critique isn't worth much as I haven't many suggestions to fix the game apart from begging the developers to make stage 4 and 5 far shorter or to add more content.

The game feels completely half finished, but it's been two years since it came out. I sincerely hope the developers continue to work on the game and add the content it DESERVES (Like the teasers at inter-world trading and exploration at the end of the story)

6/10. By god am I proud of my red, green and blue ball, but by god was it agonizing to get there.

Awesome tactical shooter. Much like a cut down Arma currently, as it's in its alpha stages, but otherwise a very very well designed, entertaining game.
