I've been waiting for this game for years, I'm a big fan but I'm not gonna lie to you about the quality of the game.

Stalker's a game you play for its atmosphere. The atmosphere's great. What's not so great tho is the ridiculous amount of bugs that break the immersion and block you from doing things (especially late game). I had to skip some of the side quests and even one of the optional main quests which is kinda sad. I've never in my entire life played a game that would have so many bugs. People spawning in random places, npcs standing in random closed rooms with no light source nor windows, enemies spawning on your back, doors being locked randomly, a 100 men standing in one room next to each other, quest objectives disappearing. I've got a really high tolerance to this kind of stuff so I found my way to enjoy it anyway, but keep that in mind if you're planning to play it.

Will they fix it? Yeah, they're working on it but the game's huge. It might take a lot of time. We're talking years. They already released the first big patch but it barely even scratched the surface. Even small things like the game not being able to save your control settings, you have to set things back every time you enter the game and they still didn't fix it.

GSC failed to deliver us a working game, at least the main quest should be working with no problems. Ask yourself: Do you want to spend $60 to then struggle for hours to make quests work or, which could also happen, to be softlocked forever and not be able to complete the game at all? I don't know if you're as committed...

When a game has ending achievements of the <10% rareness, people are making fun of it saying that no one really finishes it. Well, Stalker 2 ending achievements are on <1% right now so it speaks for itself.

Despite all these things I enjoyed it. Especially the first half of the game which was definitely less buggy. The first half was really great.

I don't know if I should recommend this game after all I wrote. Think of it as an informative review.
