I find this game isn't a game you play. Its a game you work.

This game is a lot of things- inventive, interesting, atmospheric.
And in my experience, I'll also call it exhausting and not fun.

I suppose I'm having an "old man yells at cloud" situation here, but I guess I just I don't want Benjamin Franklin of Spain finishing construction of a Borobudur wonder. Why is Benjamin Franklin leading Spain and what the heck is a Borobudur. I feel like in the effort to make it more worldly and focusing on mass appeal it detached itself from history in a way I'm just not a fan of.

And I agree the older civ games had some late game pacing problems but the three age system has made this game predictable in ways the others were not. Maybe it's not made for me, the guy whose been playing civilization since the 90s. Maybe its like the live action Disney remakes; designed for the next generation, to bring an old story to new people in a way they want it.

If a couple of banger expansion packs come out and flip this thing around I'll change this review so I guess ill see in like... 2 years...

How, the absolute HECK, does this game not have, at the most, a mostly negative review?

I paid like 6 bucks for it and I'm actually disappointed to the point that I'm writing a negative review.

The online is dead. The landing gear doesnt retract. You cant play anything but the first generation of crap helicopters until you invest in your squadron. The crappy music of the era never stops. The landing gear doesnt fkn retract!

The worst part, though, is that there's all these reviewers on here talking about how they think its a great game, its unbelievable. If they are fake, then its money well spent, cuz they convinced me to buy this piece of crap. ugh.

The most fun I've had is taking a break on the mainline story and just living in that world

I like it. I don't really understand all the hate for it. I bought it for like 35 CA$ and I think its a fantastic value at that price. I feel like its going to be installed on my pc for a long time.

The only bummer is, with the incessant vitriol surrounding it I can't really convince other people to give it a chance. Their loss, really.

This is the funniest cod ham game I've ever played. Like, actually, loudly laughing, multiple times, its an absolute pleasure.
