i LOVED battleship on warcraft 3.

But this game is a real bummer. I found it to be unintuitive, and weirdly enough i felt myself getting weaker as the game went on rather than stronger, even while spending all of my occo. total bummer.

The art team should feel REALLY good about their work here, the art is incredibly beautiful and well done.

honestly, pretty fun game, definitely an improvement on coh2 as of this point.

but, the paywalled battlegroup content is criminal on a 60$ game. Some of the best and most fun battlegroups are locked behind it, and it's just super wack.

this game is easily one of the most polished and well designed games of all time

i tried to play this game a few times, and it's just not great.
there's so many systems with so much potential, but stuff just doesn't feel good in this game.
and it's all minor ♥♥♥♥, like sections of roads being just a centimeter away from a tower's range, or the range of a fishing pier narrowly missing a house.
This game just has those sorts of problems adnauseum.

I've really tried to like this game, I've got over 200 hours on Battle Brothers, and I love the Shiro Games team, so this felt like a match made in heaven.

Unfortunately, I think that the majority of the focus is on the auxiliary mechanics, the camping system, exploring tombs, the professions and the various minigames you play throughout your journey.

These systems mask a poor core game. The loot you get from other groups is minimal, and sustaining your mercenary company solely from fighting isn't an option because the loot is miniscule.
Losing mercenaries is far too devastating, both because every mercenary you acquire is incredibly expensive, and the leveling up process is an arduous time consuming slog.
And then there comes difficulty scaling. There are no encounters that ever feel like a cakewalk. Every fight, be it against the guard, or against a pack of pigs, is brutal as hell.
I like difficulty to ramp up, but because of difficulty scaling, there is no fantasy with my mercenary company, they're always going to be lacking.

If you have a Battle Brothers itch, this game will not scratch it, it is a Sisyphean nightmare.
