pvp is ♥♥♥♥ and unfun because noarmor+ak and team balancing being the worst i've ever seen
way of gaining credits used exclusively for cosmetics is ♥♥♥♥
pve is okay when you don't get chris kyled by a terrorist dressed like a californian wielding an mp5
devs have yet to fix any of this but the gunplay is at least fun

I've come back to edit my review and deem it even worse than before. Shrapnel will pierce your heavy body armor or dink you in the head from about fifty feet away and from behind a wall from your own grenade. Same goes for any other explosives.

Barotrauma is the definition of toe-curling, look-over-your-shoulder suspense, stress and horror. For what it is, this game is terrifying by definition of the word, especially to individuals with thalassophobia. However aside from Barotrauma's horror aspects, the game is actually extremely entertaining in its' roleplaying aspects, its' underwater combat, and especially in managing a submarine full of fragile humans that you must keep alive to progress.

However the game is not for everyone, and dare I say it's even got a niche of sorts. Not everyone enjoys horror games, not everyone enjoys crew management, and not everyone enjoys fighting deep sea creatures with a diving knife. All in all, the game is hit or miss depending on the person, and I think that those who enjoy games of this nature should definitely give it a shot.
