Capcom is adding new DRM that breaks things on Steam Deck, bricks modding support, reduces performance, and adds stuttering. The new DRM is made by an unknown company that gets flagged by multiple anti-virus software. Do not buy or install until this is reversed.

This game should lose verified status since the title screen no longer works properly.

You know that episode of South Park where a ghost got Randy at the computer? That's me right now.

I was admittedly initially turned off by the art style to this game. After numerous recommendations I finally gave in a purchased it during the recent sale. I'm sad I waited so long because this game is so incredibly fun. I encourage anyone to try it out, and I look forward to 30XX releasing soon!

I climbed a mountain, jumped .005 seconds too early and missed the crown losing the game.

10/10 would smash keyboard through monitor again!

This game has two major flaws. Firstly it doesn't know what type of game it wants to be. It is a weird mixture of Classic, X, and ZX (with how the weapons are forms with abilities sometimes not open world), but then it also can't decide if it wants to be a regular platformer or a speed run game. Secondly level design is a mixed bag. A few levels are very well designed (especially enjoyed Avi's and the final stage), but then others are very bland or just filled to the brim of cheap deaths instead of actual difficulty.

The music is okay, but in many cases it just goes unnoticed. I would say the retro bgm is definitely better and more memorable. They probably should have just used that or like some sort of remixed chiptune version of it for the actual music.

The bosses were mostly fun. Even if some of the voice acting is annoying I enjoyed the conversations during battles. I do feel the final boss just came too soon. They should have padded the ending stages with at least another level and have some sort of boss rush (they could have probably made it work with the story some how).

For the future I hope they can focus on giving the next game more personality. It's easy to have sprites just stand there or do a generic talking animation back in the old days, but with a game that's completely in 3D they should be animated to what they are saying to show even the slightest bit of expression.

People not totally upset over how the kickstarter was handled will probably at least find some fun in the game. I would play it again, and even reccommend it to people. I will say I would probably hold off until it's $10-15, but then again I paid $200 and not completely bashing it here. Either way I actually am looking forward to a sequel. What story there is does have me at least interested in the characters and events that are to come. I just feel they're going to have to really make an amazing game to get the fanbase they want.

Early Access Review
They advertised co-op as a coming feature to get sales from people looking for a fun co-op game, and then they drop support for it. You can get a little fun playing this on your own for a while, but it gets boring very quickly. Remind me to not support this dev in the future.

Edit - Steam says I have 0 hours on record for this game, but I only played it for 20 minutes because I wanted to save the game to play with friends when co-op is released. That's the way it goes though I guess.

The world is very detailed and interesting to look at, but the theme it introduces right away and the dark/stormy setting gives the impression of a survival horror game which this is not at all. In this game you litterally walk from point A to B to C to D to E to Finish. I feel they also just ran out of ideas to keep the game interesting. You start to notice a lot of reused elements from similar style hidden passages, constantly reused assets (seriously even in the 90s I did not have 20+ phone books), and then towards the end of the game it feels your just quickly getting journal entries and not finding anything else of interest in the house.

It's an interesting short story for a couple dollars, but it's definitely not worth full price or even half price.
