Early Access Review
Man, why are there so many solos crying about having to actually fight? I saw a review that was complaining that the areas that spawn the gate early are contested and may result in combat with players OR AI. Do you people seriously just want to run through a raid with zero enemies and have every crate have the world's best loot in it? The updates are not that ruining; just get a friend or get better. If you HAVE to extract with a bunch of loot to have fun, go play a different game, because you'll just stress yourself out when you get annihilated as a sorry solo player.

This game is legitimately amazing. The objective of the game is to take over the enemy's outposts to ulitimately dominate them. But that's just the campaign, which is already a masterpiece. There's multiple minigames, all of which are actually challenging. Possibly the most amazing part of the game is the 2 player mode and the ability to remote play. You will never experience something as thrilling as taking down an entire horde of dinosaurs with 50 hunters and your best bud. The pure comedy in melting a T-Rex with a hundred men throwing two hundred rocks is simply too much. The sight of dinosaur corpses being absolutely devoured by your preparers shouldn't go without mentioned either. This game is very fun, especially with a friend, and I really think you'd like it if you tried it out.

I really like this game, as you can tell by my hours. There's a lot to this game, and it can be fun without mods, but they make the experience even better. I will say that I think the game is a little bit overpriced, not because it's not worth the price, but because it's a lot of money for a very subjective game. In other words, its a lot of money for something that you either really like or can't stand. It only goes down like 3 dollars on sale, so it's really not worth it to wait for that either. As I said before, it's (kind of) worth the price, but only if you really like it.

I have decided to revise my miserable review of this game today as it did not give the game enough credit and was super cringe. Without further ado...

Rust is an incredible game, and I think it is looked down upon more than it deserves by the outside community. Despite being a Herculean task for any PC to run, I don't think there is anything objectively wrong about the game itself! It looks beautiful on high graphics, the gunplay is amazing, the majority of the mechanics in the game make sense and are reasonably in depth, the anti cheat could use some work, but in general an all around a 5 star experience. That is, if you don't mind objectionable individuals saying awful stuff 24/7.
Yes, ok, the community is awful, maybe even one of the worst, but who the hell cares? People shouting slurs and making unsavory remarks, it never happens to me anyway because I'm too trash to piss anyone off! If it does bother you though, most of it can be mitigated by shutting off voice chat and signs and global chat, but it definitely takes away from the social experience that Rust was always supposed to be. Kind and worthwhile people are to be found everywhere, and the teamwork you'll employ and stories you'll experience with them is worth the occasional disgusting subhuman shouting improprieties at you. Personally, I have had more positive encounters with people in terms of their choice of words and social behavior than negative encounters, though I recognize that I'm relatively lucky in that region and my incompetence in endgame combat reduces the amount of angry people I come across. In my opinion, though, even if you are encountering human scum on a daily basis, it is STILL worth playing with unbarred communication between players, because you will eventually find your people and place, and you will probably eventually enjoy the game without or despite awful people saying horrible things.
That's all I really have to say, except that PLEASE FACEPUNCH MAKE OUTPOST SHOOT ANIMALS AND ROAD SCIENTISTS THAT ATTACK PEOPLE BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER I SWEAR TO GOD. BEING BULLIED LIKE A HIGHSCHOOLER BY A ROAD SCIENTIST WHO KNOWS, HE KNOWS THAT I CAN'T DEFEND MYSELF BECAUSE OUTPOST IS RIGHT THERE STARING AT ME, JUST WAITING FOR ME TO SLIP UP SO IT CAN TURN ME INTO A MANGLED PILE OF FLESH. AND THE WOLVES AND BOARS, GOOD LORD. PROBABLY LOST MORE GEAR SETS TO ANIMALS COERCING ME TO MURDER THEM OUTSIDE OF OUTPOST THAN I HAVE TO PLAYERS I KID YOU NOT.
Game's great! You should buy it.

Great way to play UNO with your friends while avoiding real social interactions. Why buy like 3 real decks of UNO when you can buy a computer version that you don't have to make social contact with anyone. Truly a godsend.
