A supremely worse version of Tiny Rogues, which I love. Absolutely unfun. Refunded almost immediately.

EDIT: Even before the developer replied below, I had actually decided to play the game again based on some changes he had made. I actually think he addressed a lot of the complains I had with the game! The removal of negative combos is HUGE. Gameplay felt much better because all of my combinations were favorable; I felt I was able to actually play without being scared of negative consequences.

There did not seem as many crappy cards added into my deck as before, so I was actually capable of building a synergistic deck. Not only that, by the end of my run I was able to make an infinite combo (not sure if this is intended though; it was fun!).

I am leaving my original review below, but please be mindful that this developer clearly reads feedback and updates the game accordingly. A VERY good sign. I'm looking forward to future development.

I wish I could say this game is good, but it really is not in it's current state. It's almost like the developer made as many decisions as he could to make the game extremely unfun. There are numerous reasons this game is not good, I'll try to highlight the worst offenders.

- No variety when starting a new run. There are no changes to the beginning of the run, so each run feels almost exactly the same as all the others. In other games of this type, they add "artifacts" or unique powers to make each run feel a little different. Not this one. You have to slog through the same minions with almost exactly the same cards over and over.

- Combo system is frustrating. For those that like the sense of discovery, maybe you might find this part fun. However, the fact that some combos actually hurt you (they are not all positive effects) and you have no idea when you are going to trigger a negative effect, is extremely disappointing. There is also no indication when a combo may potentially be bad, and sometimes there are contraindications. For example, I had a card that gave me energy and let me draw a card. When playing two of those cards back to back, the combo effect was to draw 4 more cards, awesome! However, when I combo'd the upgraded versions of those same cards, all of a sudden the combo effect was to destroy 5 random cards from my deck. Why?

- You are incapable of building any sort of synergistic deck. Almost every minion or boss adds cards to your deck. Some of these cards are only for one combat. However, they add so many of those cards, you stop drawing your own cards and can no longer play effectively. During my last boss battle (which caused me to come write this review), I drew 3 straight hands of all cards the boss had added to my deck (even after playing several of them which "purges" them from your deck, and also hurts your life totel). The combo system goes out the window when you don't get to draw your own cards, the battle goes on and on, and it becomes a huge slog. But it gets worse. Some of the cards added by minions are actually unavoidable permanent additions to your deck (you get them as an effect of killing the monster). Of course, you can clear these out of your deck by going to the camp or the well, but then you are not able to thin out your deck of other trash basic cards which, again, leads to an inability to create a synergistic deck.

- The alchemy system is worse than the combo system. You again have no information to start with, so all you do is throw in cards and hope for the best (and this is in the middle of combat, not on the main map). In my very first attempt I threw in two of my betters cards and got a "Philosopher's Stone" as a reward. This, as it turns out, is a useless card that cannot be removed from the deck. Eventually I was able to combine two Philosopher's Stones into a really good one-off card. However, the damage had been done; my deck lost two really good cards and was bogged down by a useless card. Again, I had no indication this could happen, and it really killed the fun.

Overall, the game is very anti-new player (which really baffles me). Make a game that will make me want to play more, not one that punishes me for trying to discover your systems. Sadly, this game is far from being one of the good ones in this genre.
