I do find the difference between the demo and full release of ep0 quite jarring, the demo had a better grasp with build ups leading to the weapons- especially the pencil.

In demo you're led to a shrine-like room and then learn to use it; in this version? It's placed in the middle of a meat pile, you also get vandalism pencil in nearly every level, but why..? The tutorial for weapons, movement and what not was also better in the demo. I'd also prefer it more if the important text that tells you how the game works was in some sort of boarder that separates it from the background, and for it to linger a few seconds after leaving the invisible trigger that makes it pop up instead of instantly disappearing, I've barely caught on to some of them because of how specific they were in positioning. Either the game was lacking in information or I didn't read a text in the game that said "you can parry purple projectiles with kicks."

The UI is a bit scuffed, though, not a fan; especially with how the "wishlist now" button is present on EVERY screen, EVEN on the pause screen, and it's BIGGER than every other button. I'd prefer if all buttons were in one neat column without me needing to look all over my screen for options. There's.. no need to have 3 button top left, 1 button top right, 2 in bottom
middle and 1 in bottom left.

The grab prompt keeps appearing even when the object can't be grabbed- on that note, one of the objects on the first level has its handles anchored to the air. Also, I still do not understand why objects and corpses (while holding a pencil) glow; you kick the glowing box and it drops nothing, you try to interact with corpses with pencil out and it does nothing.

I got softlocked on the level with 3 meats that you have to draw faces on, my pencil had 0 ammo and I tried to draw then erased the face- and it somehow made all of my weapons as well as kick unresponsive, I recorded it so idk, that's what it seemed like to me.

It's awful, traversing the maps. You can't tell what's bound to be a secret or what's bound to be a loop back to an area you've been to before, so by the time you go down one path you're already too late to go back and explore the other. I feel like the game would do better with more hints on "this is the main path."

Regardless, the game was fine. I liked it. It's free and I can't be mad.
Even if map traversal was funky, I still loved the aesthetic, the decorations and the setups.
The music was amazing, the enemy, art and character designs were great; The voice acting was pretty good too!
The audio work is amazing, watched the video of the man behind it just.. doing inappropriate things to cardboard, god bless their soul, but it was well informative and enjoyable.
Boss fights feel a bit blurred together since most of them are just "parry shoot" type gig, but I don't mind.
The moment I seen the "Join the leet crew" it confirmed to me that someone in there was a madness fan due to some designs and artistic choices too, and.. I wasn't surprised about the "Skibidiosis."

DO consider dropping profile frames/images for the game's pointstore, I'd love to buy a couple :] !

This game’s early access was released much earlier than expected, so I’ll be reviewing it with that in mind.

What’s great about the game?
+ Visuals and world building, they're actually so dope.
+ Music, especially during combat, it's not too over the top, yet still fitting for the game's style.
+ Sound design, you don't need visuals on most enemies to be able to tell danger is nearby, which is a plus in my book.
+ Character/enemy design, not too edgy, but still very apocalyptic, I appreciate it.
+ 2D art style, it's awesome.
+ Gun-play, though some guns are pretty bad; Looking at you shotgun, confetti-ass gun.
It’s a solid game with a nice game-play loop, and I love it. Especially the aesthetic of an apocalyptic world mixed with robots and cyborgs, which just so happens to be my top two favourite fantasy genres.

What’s not so great?
- Characters' fingers clipping through the scope, it's funny but distracting.
- Enemies spawning too close, in front of, or behind players. There needs to be a system that checks whether players are nearby, because it sucks to be doing well only to get COMPLETELY ruined by an enemy squad spawning out of thin air.
- The water system. It's dog, pun intended.
- Speaking of dogs, I spent 110k credits, only to find out I can’t pet the dog. Please let us pet the dog. Thank you.
- Traversing maps is awful. My character stops running whenever there’s the tiniest rock in his way, which is frustrating. On top of that, there are multiple small locations where you get soft-locked because of awkward slopes, and getting out is nearly impossible. And no, don’t tell me “just don’t go there!!!” I obviously wouldn’t have gone if I knew I'd get stuck.
- Optimisation. A lot of it. This game needs a lot of optimisation.
- Looting is a hassle. When two items are near each other, it’s difficult to hover over the one you want (e.g. picking up a destroyed gun but the supply box is blocking it.) I’d love for loot to have a white outline when hovered over, and for heavy items to STILL show their names while carrying others (e.g. if I’m holding water, I’d like to know if the heavy item I’m hovering over is a Gacha box without having to drop my water).
- Enemy bodies despawn way too fast. I’ll take out several enemies in seconds, and as soon as I get close to the corpses, they vanish with the loot.
- Dead bodies acting like aggroed enemies, or living enemies that never de-aggro. Also, enemies aggroing through walls, and others that just never aggro at all.
- Squad AI scavengers are... well, idiotic. Go play with real people.
- Some map models, like rocks, are half-missing, you can see through them. And no, I’m not talking about the unfinished map; this happened on the other ones too.
- When downed by enemies then revived by a player, the enemies instantly re-aggro onto the revived player and instantly down them again. Please... 5 seconds of invincibility or something.
- When downed, being revived doesn't slow down or stop the death timer, that's horrid.
- The gun pre-set and modification system is confusing, why am I forced to make a pre-set of the gun with mods I want on it? Why not like, just let me save and be on my way.
That's all I can think of or remember off the top of my head. Sure, a long list of issues, but the game is still great.

Suggestions:
> Modifiers: The game is too easy when it isn’t buggy or when I don’t die to something completely unfair. It’d be great to see time-based rare map modifiers or lobby modifiers that players can turn on. If this is already planned, oops! If not, please consider it.
> Petting the dog, please 🙏

For those saying “this game had potential and blew it,” grow up. It’s early access. Bait used to be believable.
The game is fun. I’ve had fun despite all the issues, and I can’t wait for future updates :}

I have a complex love/hate relationship with Payday 3. It is a bad game? By all means, no. Is it a broken game? By all means, VERY.

The good:
- Removal of Captain weiner, body bags and handcuffs.
- Simplifying builds by removing perk decks.
- Stealth is so much more fun with the addition of casing-based skills.
- Being caught while in casing mode no longer starts police assaults but instead gives you a second chance to continue stealth depending on your circumstances.
- No more holding F simulator, easy minigames to make the interactions finish faster.
- Enemies are no longer bullet sponges on higher difficulties.
- GOODBYE offshore account!

The bad:
- The COD looking UI as well as adding levels to guns.
- Funky police AI, feels as if they spent most of their time on Cloaker's circus acts.
- Inability to sell guns/attires (destroying isn't the same.)
- Inability to continue playing with the same lobby, instantly sent back to menu after heist is done.
- Grenade, who the hell changed the keybinds.
- Why grenade launcher spam no kill bulldozer 😭??? Overkill weapon? More like Underkill. I understand he's wearing bomb tech suit and all but come on, they're not THAT invincible to explosions.

The ugly:
- Broken pieces of ♥♥♥♥ servers.
- Game is what you so like to brag of "Always online," so inability to pause in solo play.

There's much more but I can't be bothered, the point is, good game with world's most awful launch, they should've spent more time cooking the game instead of giving a fixed release date.

Despite all that, would not 100% recommend until you see players start talking about servers being completely stable. But if you have nothing better to do with your life like me then sure, have a go at it.
