When the less expensive DLC has more in-game content then the deluxe edition

Can be a bit grindy and it's a bit hard to find a full lobby so unless you have friends or you feel like sitting and waiting for randoms to join for possibly 20 minutes then you will need to play solo.
The list of weapons is really small and the modifications are limited.
Found the gameplay to be fun though and the friendly AI isn't too bad.

I do not recommend the game at full price however. $40 for this is pretty crazy, instead wait for a sale. It was $15 for the winter sale.

Edit: Looks like they dropped the retail price to $29.99 at the beginning of February, but I still advise waiting for a sale. Price of the game tends to drop to between $14-$20 USD :)

Darktide is a love hate relationship, but not like Dead By Daylight and League of Legends level of sadism. This game is good. it's fun to play and after a few years of tweaking the devs have finally hit the nail with a progression formula that works. However, it's all about what we could've gotten. Darktide was teased to have an incredible story written by a seasoned warhammer writer. What we got was a string of unconnected missions that have no chronological order. Your only stories are brief 20 second cutscenes every 5 levels up to 30 and then it ends.

Vermintide 2 is one of my top 3 favorite games of all time and it featured a chronological order of it's missions where the main campaign was split into 3 acts that all converged into the final boss. Completing a mission would unlock the next to ensure you are playing in the right order It showed that Fatshark knows how to make stories with this game formula but chose not to.
Darktide is a good game, but it feels weak in comparison to what we could've gotten.

Gotta be the worst triple A release this year. Buggy as hell and an open world so bare bones the only enjoyable way to play the game is to do it with a friend.
I had to go into launch options just to force the game to launch into Directx11 or the game would crash when trying to join friends and even then its a 50/50 on if the game crashes.

It's like Risk of Rain but on a $5 RPGMaker budget and yet it's still fun

Not worth the price and by far my least favorite faction ever added. Their food mechanic makes it so CONSTANT war and fighting is a MUST with this faction, you can't settle down and just be a mercenary and only do contracts, you need to be constantly raiding, constantly making outposts, and constantly killing for your armies to not die of starvation.

Amazing mod but very short, beat it in less then an hour and a half + had moment where I got softlocked after the tram ride.

Decided to try the game again since the update and I enjoyed it. Missions are harder and enemies are more fun to fight. Game is still lacking in engaging missions with more objectives (some but very few) Connection is improved but not perfect since the edition of dedicated servers.

Update: Coming back to the game after a bit to find noone is playing pve/zombies anymore. I'm not a pvp person, so I'm sad to see this. The singleplayer campaign at least has still a decent amount of missions that take about 5-10 hours to complete. I personally wouldn't recommend this off-sale.

My personal recommendation would be to wait until it's on sale.

Good to get for the crowns.

I really really do not like this game outside of the shooting ranges and sandbox maps. Trying to play this game like a pve shooter is just infuriating to me. Trying to shoot spastic sausages that float at you with mach 10 speed is enough to give me a brain aneurysm.
