I just wanna say it was a great experience. I love the monsters, their mechanics, the sound choices and trills that signal danger, the map layout is very well done, and while the puzzles are difficult, they are intuitive. Played with two others and we were a fresh group with no clue what we were getting into.

For people saying the monsters are boring or what-not, it's definitely refreshing consider many other games either use pre-made assets or just make really simplistic monsters. While the monsters in this game are lore-based and thus still somewhat human shaped in some way, I really dig the designs and ideas behind them.

I don't know if I'll get all the easter eggs, but I did see two posts mention the two possibly secret achievements so if I get those, then I might try for 100%.

I quite enjoyed the little texts with the Manager as well. The strange lady is... quite strange indeed... (love her.) I think my favorite enemies are the worm bodies and the one I had the most trouble with would have been the First Squad Member because they seem to spawn in staircases as I'm approaching them,,,

I greatly appreciate the kitty and that it continuously pops up on your run. :] I'm sad my screenshots didn't save (my fault) because I had a really nice picture with the kitten on the rooftop.

The books were certainly hard to find, and while it was fun for about a minute with the black goo gun, it almost didn't feel worth it to go back and search meticulously for the 2 we missed. It doesn't have to kill enemies or anything like that, but the current use is only for a quick giggle imo.

Playing with multiple people seems paramount, because some of the sections we needed to aggro certain monsters away in order to complete an objective. At least 2, but 3 seemed to be a sweet spot for us personally. I couldn't imagine a solo run when any one of us would die at the flip of a coin. lol And as someone who is not very adept at puzzles myself (such as the slide puzzle for instance), having other people who can make up for that really helps. I finished the number code map all by myself. ;_;)b

I feel like the objectives are very straight forward. Strange, of course. It's a strange place! The moon is being held underground. You spawn in wearing an astronaut suit and it only makes sense at the very end! Being able to appreciate the whimsy mixed into a horror game allows for a lot of fun moments outside of the imminent dangers.

Overall, very fun. I think I would enjoy playing it again just to help friends enjoy it too. Great game. Wonderful experience. Truly, I applaud the diversity of the monsters and designs. I enjoyed them all.

A lovely experience. I've never grown a Grandpa before, so this certainly gives me a good idea of what it would be like. :')

I feel like Yames is slowly becoming a cult-classic style of developer- making games and media that truly fit their imaginings of things and we're along for the ride. The experience is always unsettling, thoughtful... and scratches at the part of your brain that makes you wonder /why/ you're uncomfortable.

I'm glad they're making stuff for us to enjoy. It's a treat every time.

The gameplay itself is very straight-forward. You generally check every option available to you before moving on, and depending on if you meet certain criteria, it chooses which of 2 endings you get. Every action has purpose, either for gaining items, gaining lore, or feeling good about cleaning everything up.

The endings are executed very well. I think the story is well-encapsulated and leaves just enough to wonder about while feeling satisfied.

I wish I could grow more friends--

Early Access Review
I play this game with my partner and with friends (never solo or matchmaking.) It's incredibly fun and easily eats up 2-6 hours a day if we let it. Every new round is different and you can try to build your characters different ways for different kinds of gameplay.

I highly rec this game. The devs have update plans to keep content coming and the most recent update (with REX) was a great addition, so I can't wait to see more.

TLDR below w/ notes.

The Blackout Club is an excellent addition to the horror multiplayer genre. You can definitely play solo or you can play with up to 3 others for a total of 4 people per party. The introduction is a bit different from actual gameplay but it is the perfect set up for you to understand what is going on in the world you're about to enter.

The devs are constantly working on hotfixes and major issues. The discord server is extremely friendly and well-kept, a couple of the devs even pop in every now and then to interact or gather more information for bugs. The bug reporting feature is great because you just need to look in the general direction of the bug and hit F8 (with the option to add more info.)

The story is great. Ambiguous and evolving. Even without interacting with the mysterious prayer option in the game, you get a lot of hints about what is going on through the environment and what your enemies/your kids say. Without spoiling too much, your prayers can be heard by the "Gods" of this world and you might be able to talk with them/hear from them personally!

The new Stalker function has been rolled out which is essentially a single person trying to bring down the group of co-op players. You gather evidence and try to influence the NPCs to catch the normal players. There is no competitive nature to winning because the Stalker has been said to purposefully be much weaker in terms of play and winning (via getting all players caught) is not the main goal (just collecting a lot of evidence/points is.) The leaderboard reflects this.

The leaderboard for normal players is based on the amount of experience (which you gather by leveling up and finishing missions) is sacrificed (this option resets your character to level 1 with no power roll over.) This is also not necessarily competitive in nature as it can be beneficial either way to keep all of your powers for easier missions or resetting to try new things or get easier missions.

Currently there is only one large map to choose from with a vast underground network which unlocks areas as you level up accordingly. There will be more content later on and it's in the works! The random spawn of evidence, different missions, enemies, potential Stalkers, and the unpredictable nature of your friends play style will make for hours of replay. :)

The community for this game on Discord is one of the best I've had the pleasure of interacting in.

TLDR:
A definite thumbs up.
Perfect solo or with friends!
Spooky but not exactly scary.
No jump-scares but flashing lights could potentially be an issue.
Interactive community and developers.
Missions can take anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour depending on your play style.

I would rec this game at full price but if it's on sale that's just icing on the cake.
Definitely a solid game for Early Access. Can't wait for more content. <3
