Fun arena shooter with portal elements added, guns and movement still feel solid like with Splitgate 1, the hero abilities and equipment is more subtle than in games like Valorant so that's nice. The maps are fun and there are very dynamic gameplay mode options, as well as a custom map editor. As someone with a few hundred hours in Splitgate 1 who was bummed when it died out, I think Splitgate 2 is worth checking out esp if you enjoyed Splitgate 1, or enjoy fast paced arena/movement shooter gameplay.

This latest DOOM game plays differently than Doom Eternal and Doom 2016, but it is still fast, intense and creative in a new and different way, very fun but no where near as punishing and satisfying as Eternal was on my first nightmare run. Overall rating: 8/10+ so far about 5 out of 22 chapters in on Nightmare first run.

There is some interesting gameplay elements that remind me of Metal: Hellsinger, Sekiro, and Ultrakill. Many were critical of Eternal's more goofy and arcade, movement shooter-esque approach, which has been changed but movement and combat is still quite fast. Can dial in your experience with the difficulty sliders, which at first I was skeptical of, but now find to be an interesting feature.

As far as the amazing graphics, cutscenes, textures, enemy design, the overall art and music of the game, and seemingly the optimization, ID software remains unmatched. At $70 it's def a bit pricey, I paid $100 to play early since I was fiendng for some new DOOM. I would imagine there is at least 30-40 hours of content if you go for all the achievements, but that's just based of how far I managed to get on my first day.

Sure it's not perfect, they had to do something different. Look at how many games Eternal's approach inspired. It's not for everyone, but I think if you give it a chance you will have fun, and as far as AAA, high budget games, so far I am enjoying it enough to say give it a go esp if you can grab it on sale in the future.

Do you enjoy Fromsoft games and intense Mecha combat? Customizing Mechs? If so, buy and play this game.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty great. Not exactly Elden Ring if your expecting that, but more Young Robot.

10/10, would get in the robot again.

Amazing RPG although a bit esoteric when it comes to the side quests, if you love BG3 or CRPG games please play this, I actually prefer the combat system to BG3 because of how you can combine different classes/elements and the difficulty of some of the bosses is really challanging...

10/10 as is BG3, love Larian and their CRPG games, looking forward to their next game! This game really helped improve the summer of 2020 for me, and since I finished it I was looking forward to BG3, which also happened to be one of the best games I've ever played...

It's so good I'd buy it for a few people if I had the $$$ rn cause I see it's 70% off!

Gorgeous well optimized PS5 era Ratchet & Clank goodness, the guns are fun, the planets captivating!

I enjoy the addition of higher difficulties to make the game more appropriately challenging for adult gamers.

If you enjoyed PS2 era Ratchet & Clank, def pull the trigger on this game while it's discounted on some sort of Steam sale, because while the game seems like it is def significantly shorter than I remember the PS2 era games being, it is quite an eye candy game to anyone who enjoys RTX or modern cartoon graphics with insane lighting effects all while it also runs quite well on the Steam Deck via AMDs FSR, mess w/ settings...

Overall, I'm only about 25% completion on this game ATM but I have enjoyed it enough to recommend it especially if you can grab it at any sort of reasonable discount, and a must have for fans of the series, really makes you think about how gaming has changed and how far game dev tech has progressed since PS2 era!

If you love Castlevania Aria of Sorrow on the GBA, or metroidvanias, get this game, it's so good, esp for $10.

I first found out about it trying to search Bloodborne on Steam but had also seen it looking up other games to play after beating Aria of Sorrow twice in a week earlier this year.

It's also great on Steam Deck, one of the best fitting games for the device IMO, looks great on LCD and runs 60 FPS on max setting with minimal issues, I bought it for $10 here because I tried it on game pass but recently stopped my sub.

Anyways, as always my reviews are just kinda rants, but amazing game so far, excited to keep playing, and buy that steamy Succubus DLC too because I am a man of culture!

Edit: Damn having beat the "first layer" of the game and started exploring beyond, words can not describe how impressive this game is for a single dev project, genre redefining game IMO it's so "smart"!!!

Wow, memes aside, this game is magical... SO COZY AND THE COLORS! It's like taking some really pure Geltabs and going on a walk in a park at night! As an artist this game captures my favorite color pallets so well, Billy Basso is a genius for this! Its apparently a short game and I know I am going to be playing it more than once because it's so relaxing and stressful at the same time!

The cold pixelated color pallets and the amazing pixel graphics, the calm and curious nature of the exploration, as a fan of metroidvanias this is 10000% a masterpiece and there isn't even conventional combat, it doesn't need it! Bravo, Billy Basso and Bigmode, you have truly made the well type game that has warmed my heart, melted my brain and inspired me...

Can't wait to keep playing animal well, downloading it on my Steam Deck rn to play it all cozy in bed until I pull an all night. I'm stoked to play more but that seahorse spike room just killed me right at the end and I'm lowkey heated rn... but you can't really get mad at a masterpiece like this. 10/10 BIGMODE is really publishing BANGERS! Savor this game that is like Elden Ring + Baldurs Gate 3 + Bloodborne + Halo 2 + Halo 3 + Counter Strike 2 + Unicorn Overlord + Death Stranding + SotC + FF7!

BUY ANIMAL WELL AND SUPPORT INDIE GAMING! AAA CAN GTFO!

It's the newest Counter-Strike, Valve knows what they are doing, I'm pretty casual and mostly played CS back in the Source and 1.6 era. As shameful as it is for an Eastern European, American immigrant like myself to admit, although I'm damn near pushing 30 these days, I been mostly fraggin' on Valorant the past years or so, as I enjoy a few of the agents and the feel of the gun play. Before that I enjoyed Splitgate for a while, and even a bit of Halo Infinite although it had too many issues to overlook...

CS2 def isn't as polished as CSGO seem game-play wise, but I believe as big of a cash cow as this gamba hobby and the timeless loop of CS is, they'll polish em away soon enuf! I hop on here to enjoy a few games here and there and escape the smurfs, squeakers and fake positive attitude of Valorant, and lets face it, those two are kinda your best options for quality multiplayer FPS action in the year of 2024... 20 years ago, gaming peaked in 2004 anyway, best gaming year ever sooo many fire Vidya releases, anyways, just play CS2 already, it's free, if you don't like it, uninstall it lmfaooo?!

For me overall, it's about a 8/10, 9/10 for the visuals, style of game, maps and optimization, and a 7/10 for the feel of the gunplay and movement at the moment although I am sure it will improve with time. Great job Valve, now just do us all a major solid and make a Steam Deck 2, Valve Index 2 and Half Life 3 sometime this decade?
