Really one of the best group focused MMOs. Challenging endgame content that requires a great deal of strategy, skill, and teamwork to beat. Getting to max level is not an absurd grindfest that takes hundreds of hours. It can be done rather quickly, especially if you have eye of the north expansion which throws so much exp at you that you'll be max level within a couple hours.

This game isn't about a massive timesink vertical progression grind like almost every other MMO out there. It's about playing around with very flexible builds and taking on tough challenges that are more focused on team based strategy and cohesive skillsets.

This MMO features the typical Tank, healer, DPS trinity, but with a bit of a twist on it. Each character can have 2 professions. Want to be a tank healer? You can do that. Tank DPS? sure, Healer Support? yep. Want to completely reallocate your build without any penalty? Absolutely, go off!

Is this game still worth playing now that GW2 is out? Sure, the games are very different experiences. GW1 is more team focused. Don't want to play with other people? You don't really have to, there are henchman and hero henchman units that are perfectly suited to helping you progress.

While the community isn't as large and vibrant as it used to be, there's still a small, but dedicated group of players still playing. Also, disregard my hours played, I have hundreds of hours off of steam.

Another plus is this game isn't subscription based, it's not designed to be addicting, Unlike other MMOs, you don't feel compelled to play just to get your money's worth, you can play when you want to. And there's not hundreds of hours of mindless filler content to waste your time and keep you paying because of a sunk cost.

I like the concept, and hopefully things are fixed, but this game is unplayable in it's current state. There is no reason why my GPU shouldn't be able to handle this game, except of course, some form of memory leak. Game started chugging an hour after simple character creation and I check task manager, the GPU is being maxed out (RTX 2070). Clearly there's some problem here and it needs to be addressed ASAP. I really hope the devs get on this and fix game breaking bugs, but for now, I'll take this as a major red flag and just refund it while I still can. unfortunate.

My PC can run elden ring better than it can run this, it's a bit baffling how unoptimized the performance is. if things get fixed though I might re purchase and give it another try later because it did grab my attention.

Very cringe that this is DLC and not just included in the base game. This adds chao Karate and 2P battle.

This is the best snowboarding game. The controls feel so fluid and natural. This was an impulse buy for me and I have no regrets whatsoever. The snow feels like real snow. I've got years of experience snowboarding IRL and this game feels very true to the sport. Plus it just feels fun as hell going for tricks nobody would dare risk going for IRL. The story does a great job of progressively teaching you new techniques and tricks, then ramping up in difficulty. it never gets too hard as the main objectives are easy enough to get, but clearing all the bonus objectives is usually challenging and feels very rewarding to go for.

My only real gripe so far is that your friend in the story basically takes all the glory while you just kinda exist in the cutscenes. The protagonist isn't voiced at all, which is a fair enough play by the developer as they want you to insert yourself into that role. I see a lot of people saying the dialog is bad, but it's mostly fine honestly, some decent jokes and some cheesy bits and fourth wall breaks but it's part of the fun of the game. It's not meant to be realistic, it's meant to be a bit over the top and absurd, while still being just about as faithful to the sport as a videogame could be I think.

I also see people comparing this to the skate series, that's a very reasonable comparison for sure. I am in love and totally hooked on this game.

I was originally a bit to hard on this game. It's okay. the game could certainly use a bit more polish. I've now beaten the first boss though. The fight was extremely tedious, stand back and charge your spell, then dodge his long range attacks hit him with the spell, rinse repeat for like 5 whole minutes. Even though I put all my levels into intelligence for the most damage, a single fully charged attack (which takes about 6-10 seconds to charge up) only did maybe 5% of his health. It wasn't that hard, just very much a game of patience and attrition. I will continue the rest of the game after this, but I'm not particularly impressed. it feels only a bit better than a college student's asset flip.

Let me preface this by saying, this is a souls game. if you don't like souls games, chances are this isn't for you. That being said. This game feels like the culmination of everything From software has learned over the years making these types of games. They took what they learned from bloodborne and sekiro and added all of the best parts. The open world feels carefully crafted and rewards exploration with unique experiences instead of copy/paste filler that other open world titles have. The bosses are as high octane and absurd as ever.

Also, THIS GAME IS CHALLENGING. There is one difficulty level: hard as ♥♥♥♥. Yes there is enough powerful weapons and equipment, spirit summons, and help from other players to make this game possible to brute force your way through, but it's not going to be easy or simple. but that's the fun of it. progressing through this game might feel frustrating at times or even brutal, but the feeling of doing so successfully is something that is unmatched in gaming.

Also just the sheer level of build customization in this game is phenomenal. I've started several new characters at this point and I'm always changing up what gear I use.

So the bad parts of this game also exist though. there are some buggy parts of the game that can be irritating, like one time I was fighting an enemy on an elevator and suddenly died of fall damage. There are bosses that can be completely cheesed like the giant rotting dragon and the nights cavalry in dragonbarrow. on the bright side doing that is the easiest way to get about 190k runes right at the start of the game, boosting you up to about level 50 or so. And it's not like that makes the rest of the game a cakewalk.

I'm only 50 or so hours in and ready to go another 100 or more. It's like I'm getting my first souls game experience all over again in the best possible way.

This is a very solid game, but it's tough as heck so be prepared to die a lot. I'd recommend playing dark souls 1 first.

While I do recommend this game, it's very overshadowed by some of the other stadium titles. I do think it's somewhat better than TMNF, but not as visually stunning, fun, or currently competitive as TM2020. In a sea of stadium environment TM games this doesn't stand out as really the "best" one. It's missing the classic feel and legendary status TMNF has and also not as pretty or well crafted as TM2020, so I don't know. Overall good game, just not unique by any means and certainly not the best at what it does.

The game functions strangely when you use both a mouse and a controller. If you do this, a lot of the keyboard and mouse functionality seems to go away. That's the biggest issue though. Really great game other than that, and it's free. If you haven't played a trackmania game yet, you're missing something big.
