It makes me sad to see this great franchise ruined by corporate greed.

There's a simple description for this "EMERGENCY" installment. SOULLESS.
No missions, detailed animations, interesting scenarios, nothing. Vehicle variety has been scaled down as much as possible. No police vans, medical carriers, helicopters (Actually usable ones. Not counting the "easy way out chopper" they are trying to sell us), fire boats, APCs, decontamination trucks etc. All of those are staples of EMERGENCY and most have been there ever since the first game. No manual placement of vehicles really hurts especially since it makes the player feel like a baby who cannot organise his toys around. The people that wanted to play this game on purpose expected a good strategy game where you have to use your mind and strategy to solve problems. But no... let's forget about strategy and let's instead make the missions hard as F#&% to force the players to buy our overpriced microtransactions instead.

Oh? They promised us customisation of our units? Sure! I'm down to selling my leg to make my police car less ugly as it already and my fire truck yellow... while still looking like a piece of crap. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are the skins in this game ugly. And for an "Authentic" EMERGENCY experience you have to pay additional money for each... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... vehicle. Personel sold separately of course.

But what this game does have is "The Grind". And for a grind that resembles any mobile game or MMORPG it sure is annoying and horribly BORING. Go here, do this, stress over the fact another emergency just appeared and you have all your unit slots filled, try to quickly send as many units as possible back to base to free up those slots, finally have enough new units to respond to that new emergency, suffer a heart attack because another emergency just appeared and you barely touched the previous one... etc. And once you fail you either have two choices. Buy some crappy cards from the store to easy mode your way through the mission or stick with easier ones. But good luck getting much loot and XP to progress from those.

EMERGENCY used to mean something. It meant the highest standard for strategy of this genre. At least in my eyes. And to see a franchise I've adored ever since childhood ruined like this.. it really does bring a tear to my eye.

Oh well... I'm off to playing literally any other EMERGENCY game except this one. This one stinks.

Genuinely one of if not the best single player experience I've ever had in any game.

This game makes me praise SimCity 2013.
