I'm no stranger to older games and even some of my all time favorites are old games. So it wasnt a problem of it being old. Nah the main problem is that the controls are just AWFUL. And I really do emphasize that. Clanky controls are not always a deal breaker but in Prototype I just cannot put up with it. No manual aiming, the strange camera angles, not being able to move your character properly especially when you're running... and you will be running a hella lot.

So yeah some parts of the game seem fun but even besides the controls it feels idk cartoonish and I'm sure they were not going for that vibe. I would give it a one or two more chances if the controls were but better but nah they are just not. It is what it is.

Got that Lethal Company vibe. Trying to capture something scary is an original idea and it is fun.

Especially fun when your friend has exploded and you're trying to get the camera off of him lol

Edit: It keeps crashing and my friends kept having connection problems. The game is fun IF you are able to play it.

I liked the story and the way it advanced, the game is scary and tense. The thing that makes it a negative experience for me tho is the gameplay.

It doesn't matter if the ending is satisfying and the twist is really nice with some foreshadowing before the ending . If most of the time im bored or frustrated it is just not good. Lotsa backtracking and getting some random keys. I love Lethal Company and this game is not bad but it is not great either. I was bored and frustrated during most of my playthrough. Especially dying to those monsters and having to repeat everything you've just done in the last few seconds is infuriating. It happened to me a few times too which put salt on the wound.

Alas the game is free, the concept is neat and the story telling is decent. Give it a try but don't be expecting a masterpiece.

Aight after 330 hours I think I can give my opinion finally.

I love this game. I had a blast while playing it, made some new friends, made some new memories and also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with some people. With always being able to play with new people and widespread mod support this game has lots of hours to give to you (as you can see from me).

Playing this game with your friends is a really dope experience. Even if that's the case I also love playing with randos cuz it's always a new experience. Well almost always... Of course you're gonna encounter bad apples but when you click with your team you just have something special in your hands. Yeah I do realize that you can meet new people and have lotsa fun with them on other multiplayer games too but I guess Lethal forces you to be a team and that just brings people even closer. Idk I met some people here who became my very close friends and I will always cherish that.

When it comes to gameplay tho it's fun af. Proximity chat is a big upside. Makes it even more fun and funny. I used to play Phasmophobia before this and we could say that they are a bit familiar. But I love to search for and find loot way more than identifying a ghost so after this game came out I stooped playing Phasmo.

The ambiance, sound effects and atmosphere is really good too so this game is scary, even more when you are the last one standing.

All in all it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome experience and if you''re on the fence about buying this then just give it a go.

(Oh and the game does have some bugs when it comes to Steam overlay which are a bit annoying but I don't really care about it I guess)

Yeah it's gonna be a hard pass from me. And it makes me sad as the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. This Steam Port on the other hand is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious.

First off you gotta fix the corrupt save problem (which they haven't fixed in years) by disabling the steam cloud and then tinkering a bit with the files. Even at the start you encounter a problem. But okay I've done that and played my 20 hours in which i finished the story finished one of the DLCs and was on the verge of finishing the other one. Then I alt f4 out of the game which I've already done in my other sessions without a problem. I have a meal and then come back to enjoy some more Sunset Overdrive and what do I see? The "continue game" button is gone. I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shocked. Thought that it might get solved by restarting the game but nah. Then I checked the save folder and my save was gone.

Like how the ♥♥♥♥ can a game's save file can get deleted just after alt 4ing out of the game? What the hell? My hours with this game and my progress are gone. And it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. It also sucks to give thumbs down as I loved the game because it has one of the best gameplays i have ever seen. The game rocks, the gameplay alone is enough by itself but the music, the fun vibe and the jokes also add to the experience. I wish I could talk more about the game and its aspects but i can't because of this horrible port. At least I was lucky enough to finish the game.

TL;DR: The game is great the port is not. Get it on another platform.

A nice game with a nice vibe which is riddled with bugs and performance issues.

Has its flaws but still is a really fun game. Parkour and soundtrack is top tier. Especially love how the music adjusts when you're free running/doing parkour in the city.

Amazing soundtrack and gripping story

A fun short game with an intriguing story. The art style and music is cool. I liked the vibes and would pay for something like this or with a similar idea in a bigger scale. Short and free so no reason to not try it.
