Almost 300 hours in at the time of writing, I can say with certainty that this is one of my favourite multiplayer games of all time. Dead by Daylight might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who do like it, you'll really like it.

I believe this comes down to the fact that every person who plays this game, killer or survivor, plays it differently. For instance, some survivors may like to rush the objective (generators), while others may prefer to grab the attention of the killer and keep them busy. For killers, all of the roster's unique powers and perks create the opportunity for a plethora of play styles. For me personally, I don't ever feel like two games of Dead by Daylight are the same. That's what makes it magic.

I've kept this review short, and I haven't covered nearly enough of what the game has to offer. I wholeheartedly believe you should pick it up and give it a go for yourself.

Unfortunately, I was only able to realise how terrible this game is once I experienced Fortnite - a similar infamous "Battle Royale" game by Epic Games.

It highlighted obvious flaws with PUBG's core experience that have not been addressed since release. Bluehole have failed to keep up with this games unprecedented success and that fact rears its ugly head prominently every time you hop into a game.

PUBG's map is far too large for what it tries to achieve, which is an intense, survival experience. What ends up happening is that you have to choose between becoming an easy target by using a vehicle, or embark on a super duper running simulator as you run from zone to zone.

It feels extremely dissatisfying when you and your friends gear up for 10 minutes or so without seeing a single enemy, only to be picked off by one swift shot by someone you didn't see. You desperately call out to your friends for help, but they can't see him either, only specs in the distance - is that a bush or a player? Moments like these destroy the enjoyment of the game for me.

That brings me to another gripe with the game, its graphics. The realistic style of PUBG would work fine, except the game is an unoptimised piece of garbage. My computer is by no means high end, it would barely qualify as a viable low-end machine, with an embarrassing GTX 750 as its graphics card. That being said, I have no trouble running Fortnite, CS:GO or Overwatch. Even GTA 5 runs relatively smoothly when compared to PUBG. The optimisation becomes an issue at the start of each round, where 100 players are crammed in the loudest jet plane in existence and dropped off into a dull map with pre-bought assets that don't load for at least 30 seconds into the game, which by then everyone else who landed around you has found a weapon to violently shoot you with.

Speaking of shooting....
The games combat system seems incredibly wonky. The end game relies on you having scopes just so you have a chance of hitting your opponents. WHY??? Additionally, if you are lucky enough to get an adequate scope for final engagements, you are met with another issue - the unintuitive wall of scoping distance. It uses squares on the map as indications of 100 metres, which is supposed to allow you to register in your brain how far away the enemy is from your current position. It uses the "Page Up" and "Page Down" buttons (for some reason...) and is confusing, especially in the heat of the moment when you are getting shot at repeatedly.

The looting system is passable for the most part, however, linking back to the issues of scopes, there are far too many variables that inhibit looting from being satisfying. You can spend such a long period of time searching for the right weapon to use, only encountering rooms with crossbows, pistols and weapons such as the VSS. If not this, you'll never be able to find the right attachment for your gun. Oh, you wanted an extended mag for your SCAR-L? Sorry pal, this extended mag only works with SMGs, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot!

The fact that this game passes 2 million concurrent players a day on steam is disgusting. Don't support this shambles, get Fortnite. Please.

Amazing, fast-paced, action packed game.

I've found it's best played with 2 players, as 3-4 can be a chaotic.

Great pacing, not too long.

The levels aren't too long, allowing you to play in short sessions.

Overall, I would rate this game 4 stars.

Never fart on a man's balls.

South Park™: The Stick of Truth™ is light-hearted, hilarious RPG with great turned-based fights amongst a variety of opponents.

As an Aussie, I only had access to the low violence version, removing a few sequences deemed to rude to include in this version of the game. I was annoyed by this, however it did not impact on the game that much. You basically just get access to 90% of the game.

I got this game in the recent steam exploration sale, at 75% off. This definately convinced me to buy it. However, after completing it, I found that you can get a fair chunk out of this game which is worth its full price, especially if you are a fan of the show.

Full disclosure, I have not actually watched many episodes of South Park itself, which sort of scared me going in. However, I was pulled in immediately by the games humour and charm.

The side quests are really rewarding, allowing you to gain more friends, give you special weapons, general loot, or even summon abilities.

I love this game.

Long live King Douchebag!
