It's times like this I wish steam had a mixed review button.

I have roughly 600+ hours in fallout 4 with all the DLC. To decide
If this game is for you, you need to ask yourself 2 things.

1. Are you a hardcore fan of fallout
2. DO you care about story and morals
If you answered yes to one or both of those questions then this is
Not the fallout for you. In the most basic of terms this is a very okish
Game. But it's a terrible fallout. The gunplay is very much improved from
Previous fallout games (I.E 3 and new vegas) but it feels like to have this
We sacrificed both the moral system and the story.

You play as the sole survivor, after choosing how your PC looks and what
Gender you want you go on to see the war has finally come to the USA's Door step. Nukes go off and you make your run to the local vault which is
Vault 111. You get frozen by bad vault-tec man blah blah blah.You wake up 210 years later to a destroyed world with one goal: find your son.
But this is were the problems with the story begin, from the get go it's wrapped
In every bad writing choice every fan fiction author has ever made. It's BORING.
It's draw out to try and make you care for this little ♥♥♥♥ the whole game but when you
Find him I'm sure you (like most of the people who played this game for the first time)
Will introduce a power fist to his wrinkled old face the first chance you get.
There are no morals so killing anything and everyone is ok. And people seem to have developed
Short term memory from the rad's because after a day or three you can waltz back into the very
Town you brutalized with no direct down sides.

The game also looks dated as hell, even when it came out it had OK graphics but nothing to amazing.
Luckily the modding community is very much alive even though Bethesda is trying it's hardest
To kill it with the creation club. So you can pretty up the game a little if you have the rig for it.

Now it does have it's upsides, the animations for the guns are very good, the tiny details put into stuff like
The plasma rifle are nothing short of amazing and the effects for laser and plasma based weapons are great,
Bodies explode into tiny pieces in a truly amazing way and the NPCs turning to dust look great as Well.
The gunplay it's self has been improved 10 fold from 3 and new vegas but I still feel like some enemy's are
To spongy for my liking (again mods will help with this)

The DLC's are just ok. The workshop ones are fun if you like the workshop and if you don't then you don't need them to do any major settlement building anyway, so it's not needed unless you absolutely want it.

In the end fallout 4 is a fun sandbox with plenty to do and some amazing mods.
It just happens to be a terrible fallout game.
6/10 for graphics and story
8/10 for gunplay and replay value.
