Changes 10 years after the game came out to nerf things that didn't need to be nerfed, just to shake up the meta in a single player game and be antagonistic towards long time players. It also ripped off mod code, even bugs exclusive to that mod. Edmund can't help himself and not start beef with his playerbase.

Quality remake. The parts that made oblivion fun are still there, with a few small reworks on things like leveling and a major face lift in the graphics department.

Having a hard time recommending this. Yes it's fun when the stars align and you get your run perfect to test a theory you have, but the most common situation is you run out of steps, keys, or gems too early or RNG kills you by making you draft too many dead end rooms and you can't even test the theory you had. It's a good concept I want to like desperately since I love puzzle games but a puzzle that has a heavy RNG element to it to even try your solutions is far more frustrating than it needs to be.

The gameplay loop of this is frustration for 5-10 runs as RNG screws you and then a single fun run where you manage to make a small amount of progress, before going back to RNG not giving you the rooms you need to progress or see the hints to the next portion over and over. There is an item that allows you to make these story rooms more common, but like everything else it's layered RNG on top of RNG to both get that item dropped to you, and then draft a room to adjust it to common rarity.

Overall, the lack of meaningful permanent meta progression to counter the heavy RNG is what makes this painful to play compared to better puzzle games like Outer Wilds or Obra Dinn, and those don't even need any random chance.

Runs into heavy issues with larger resolutions, alt tabbing, and multiple monitors. Needs work to work better on modern PC setups before it's worth it.

Doesn't start on setups with multiple monitors or larger than 1080p resolutions reliably, this isn't a very good port to modern systems. It's just a copy paste of the old game with no changes.

Early Access Review
Pretty good Survivor game, it has a lot of content and frequent updates. There's a lot of grinding but it's fun to do it along the way. It's still early access so there might be progress wipes or reworks that mess your progress up but hold off till 1.0 if that bothers you.

The idea is good but it is extremely luck based, even the tutorial boss steals your cards from you so you can end up with a situation where he steals all of your good cards and makes himself unkillable.
A situation which in fact happened to me as the manager stole a few of my cards and proceeded to give himself 30 shield per turn ending in 500 total shield, and I had to reset as that fight which was supposed to be pretty easy became literally impossible.

People compare it to Balatro but it really lacks that skillful feeling where it's your fault if you lose. Enemies seem to draw the perfect card constantly and you perpetually draw cards when they're useless. Just a very streaky, random type of game it would seem. More Luck be a landlord than Balatro. There is also the frustration factor as you can blackjack and the enemy will destroy your cards, change your target, and overall change the rules after you've locked in and can do nothing about it.

Like other Balatro-likes- Bingle Bingle and so on- it's rather unpolished and really seems like it needed more time in the oven before launch.

It's a solid rogue-like with a unique twist, and a lot of polish. There are a few balance issues where things are too easy or too hard, and it needs tweaking to get a better difficulty ramp up to the hard difficulties, but it's definitely not a skip for that reason.

Fixes promised, no fixes given. Instead there's a paid DLC that breaks the main game.

Early Access Review
It's got potential but it's just missing something Balatro had. The rules aren't very simple to understand and the fact that betting and playing uses the same resource, is frustrating. Discards are hard to understand, bosses are not shown ahead of time so there is no chance to prepare and you can get blindsided by something that shuts down your build. Losing 100% of your money when leaving a shop also feels terrible.
There overall is just a layer of confusion and frustration in this I didn't have with other similar games. This needs to have the UI, gameplay, and scoring improved in a way that is more intuitive to the player. Like I said it has potential, but it's just not there yet. Hopefully this isn't a cash grab and the developers can take this early access feedback and improve the game.
