This is such a fun and chill game to play, perfect for gamers without much free time on their hands.

This game compares a lot with Battlefield4, and let me tell you, a guy with 300 ish hours in that game, that this is a straight upgrade (minus the graphics lol but if that's a deal breaker what the f are you doing here?). Almost everything is improved,
-time to kill feels just right
-the weapons have just enough recoil to make them rather challenging to use
-there are a lot of mods to unlock (based on kills taken with the weapon). Though I have to add that technically you have to unlock the mods with each class, but I think you can pre mod the weapon in a class, and equip the weapon in the class you want and you keep the mods.
-the utilities are not as spammable and annoying (though there could be a higher variety)
-different maps for different playstyles, only long range and open, only close quarters, and even mixed!
-127 vs 127 players is such a clusterf that makes the game so chill as in it doesn't matter at all if you do good or not as part of the team because you have 126 more allies, so you can just focus on having fun (also nade kills feel so damn satisfying in this game mode)
-and if the previous point sounds too chaotic for you, you have other options as well that feel more grounded
-vehicles no vehicles big maps small maps combinations you got a game mode for that (it just needs to get voted)
-building system is easy and very useful, you can make your own angles to hold (or block), you can sit in the middle of a field, pop a couple of sandbags and you've got a fortified position
-the building destruction does change the map and the areas near objectives, you could very much consider it as playing a different objective after 20 minutes (though sometimes this gets annoying, but I felt the same in bf4 as well so this is only my opinion)
-player customization is present (both visually and functionally), though the options are a bit limited
-vehicles are kind of weird, but I do have only 25 hours
-while you run you can press ALT and look around you, but the angle you can turn your head is not great at all

So if you wonder how chaotic can the 127 vs 127 mode gets, I have around 250 kills with anti personnel mines lol. And I remember one match where I put a tall sandbag + a long sandbag buildings and I held that position almost half an hour it was so fun, I had made myself a tight angle to hold and people kept peeking it without expecting me to be there.

If you wonder how easy it is to get into the game (either be first time or returning after a break) I prepared myself like in BF4, my first positive KD will be only after 80 hours of playing. This was not the case at all, I played until found my go to weapon and in less than 10 hours I could even hit a 3KDR (and of course then I started to finally have fun not dying and actually doing something during matches lol). I haven't tried to take a break yet.

If you wonder how healthy is the playerbase, the 5k-6k that is currently sitting at is more than enough for a couple of servers to be filled or 98% filled. You have 4 or 5 game modes to play, but if you want to try one of the obscure ones (like voxel building one), you'd either need to come with your own community or have crazy luck. It is doing good, and I strongly believe it will not fall for the next 5 years at least. There was no hype at all just pure willingness to play the game. It can only go up from here.

It's a great game, few bugs, not hard to ignore, and the game overall is more complex than I thought.
Things can get out of hand extremely easy especially when you research Tier 3 and you start paying taxes. My 10 hours colony is kind of screwed, I might need to start again from 0.

A couple of things that I don't really like about the game:
-the ledger doesn't really make any sense
-you don't know how much resources each person consumes
-the trading is not taken into account almost at all, even though the process is entirely automated and constant
-that damn withered crop mechanic
-if one guy dies, the job doesn't get automatically filled by someone else

EDIT: After playing and declaring independence I have a couple of things that became a bit annoying:

-the infinitely increasing taxes became extremely stressing
-the workers are not optimized at all: if you have a build order only one guy will transport the materials and work on that build, and it gets selected so instead of the nearest worked starting building or carrying resources there might be a chance that the guy from the other side of the island will get the job
-meanwhile I found out in the management tab there is a per day and per month requirement for each production line but you have to click manually, could've been done a bit better
-there should be an announcement that when researching tier 3 and 4 the difficulty increases a bit
-no tier 4 dock
-the starting island can be a bit on the small side

I think I have to git gud though

New Review:

I have to add some things now that the game got released. It's even better! except that they nerfed to the oblivion my hot potato >:(

There is so much new content, so many new routes, much more to explore and the best part, I feel like there is still more to be added I still see some doors without being able to interact with them!

Still a solid choice for a game

13 March Review:

Awesome fast paced semi rogue like game that after only 10 hours you can have mindless fun.

For an early access this game is incredible

How to win every run:
Step 1: Pray to RNJesus
Step2: Get ok-ish weapon
Step3: Speedrun trough Quarry
Step4: Dodge the fire drones
Step5: Pray for the beetle boss

You win.

Played 10 minutes connect 4. 10/10

This is a beautifully done game. The story is well done, the scenery is looking good, characters feel real and the ending feels accomplishing and satisfying.
Also the splitscreen effect improves parts of the game, it gives tension, plays with what the players see and blends in with the action.
Soundtrack sounds average, nothing too distinguishable, helps pulling your heart strings during scenes.
This is truly a game made for coop/couch play, and I'm extremely glad they though about friend pass.

Have a friend? Then you must give this game a try.

-The game is extremely fun, great scenery, soundtrack, missions
-98% of the achievements are easy to complete, 1% are challenging and the rest of 1% are time consuming and the DLC ones make you replay the same mission and complete the tasks in different ways
-Almost any mission can be done in at least 2 ways
-A lost of great side quests that feel like main missions that expand the story
-You have the ability to play your favorite stealth archer build

But there are some cons I have for this game too
-Combat is mostly ripostes and combos are absolutely useless later on in the game
-A ton of loading screens, this game has one for almost any action you'd take
-Quests that you simply can't save and quit for the day because tomorrow you'll forget what you have to do/what you have been doing and you'd get extremely lost ( this may differ for other people )
-I consider that one particular big plot twist in the story to be poorly written, and there are bits here and there that don't make much sense (like 2% of the whole story)
-Bugs, after what? 5+ years, there are still bugs in the game, luckily there aren't game breaking ( or at least I was lucky to not encounter them )

Some things that I learned while playing
-Your ripostes don't work because you don't hold the mouse click
-You can force enemies to attack you if you run from them mid combat for a bit and do a 360
-Lockpicking and general theft is op
-You don't have to loot the grochen from every corpse
-Speech unlocks more routes than your average RPG
-It's actually worth it to have a girlfriend ( yes, I'm referring to in-game )
-Cumans are surprisingly easy to kill
-Archery can become op
-Combos are extremely useless
-You can max out many levels from the prologue
-The end/beginning of new main quests aren't time sensitive
-Your reputation still decreases even if you commit the perfect murder
-Henry is quite hungry and a serious psychopath

Sometimes I have a blast of fun sometimes I hate myself. Great game!
And the fact that there are mods that work in multiplayer and allow achievements is just too good.

This game got an interesting idea but it's applied poorly. Very poorly.
So what's great about this game is the TTK(time to kill). You mostly die in 2-3 shots and this creates interesting scenarios.
It takes 1-2 hours to learn how to play the game and have 0 or positive kd(unlike battlefield 4 where only after 10 hours you manage this)
The maps are just bad. They are all too open and filled with strange angles.
Camping is so easy and most of the time you die to some random guy across the map just to respawn and shoot towards the roughly direction until you get a hitmarker and you follow it.
Snipers are a bad idea in this game, they are too unpunishable if you don't intend to play the objective and sit in one spot for the whole game.
Hitboxes are off. The walls are smaller than their hitboxes, there are so many moments when you want to shoot through some large gaps just to end up hitting some hitbox.
Game is just grindy enough. I'm using battlefield 4 to compare.
Few customization options. You have 5-6 different scopes but for some weapons you can only equip only one of them.
Respawns are bad. Often you will respawn in front of an enemy and you get instantly killed again since you don't even have half a second of invincibility.
Enemies can phase through you. It is extremely disorienting and gives the guy turning the corner closely a huge advantage that he shouldn't have.
Bad controls. Randomly you can't sprint, scope in or shoot(not referring to the times you can't do that because you're too close to a cover)
Sadly there are hackers. I've seen numerous times people moving waaaay fast than normal( well besides some people's insane spotting and gun control but whatever they just gut gud)

If the game had better maps I would've continue to play it. Too bad.
