I love this game wholeheartedly. Would be more fun with friends, but its none of their cup of tea.

The time commitment to the game is rather large, so you need to figure out what you want out of this game. If you want to dominate PVP, you're going to need to spend way more time than I have.

What's nice about this game is that there is no handholding. You're exploring and have 1 billion credits worth of explorer and exobiology data and you're landing on a planet that has 5 times the gravity of earth and don't control your descent and explode? Sorry, hope you have enough money for rebuy.

You're constantly measuring risk vs reward and carving your own way and conducting yourself as you see fit.

Space racism is based

It's sort of buggy, but in the Rise of the Republic DLC if you click on an army they say "See the world, and kill foreigners" and that's my philosophy for diplomacy. They also have beautiful terrains, fun battles, the best HUD for the entire total war franchise, and there are plenty of mods to keep it fun if you end up getting bored with vanilla.

Amazing game. Horrible performance, and I can't find a fix.

Overall this game is fun to play. I haven't had too much time to play it, but let me explain the pros and cons. I apologize if I forget anything.

Pros:
-Space and ground combat
-Modding community
-Campaigns or simple galactic conquest (I prefer the latter)
-Gungan genocide
-Non-CPU intensive
-Multiple "galaxies" for Galactic Conquest
-Tech advancement (allows for you to properly build up your forces over time)
-Heroes (it's satisfying launching a huge clone invasion on bomis koori 4 and killing darth sidious (mod))
-Can get groups using Ctrl + 1-9

Cons:
-If you don't press "attack move" (basically move but they'll engage targets) they won't engage targets
-You have to micromanage everything
-Stability is a little whacky on newer platforms (I personally have only had the game freeze for a few seconds)
-Graphics are ♥♥♥♥
-Can't rotate around the battlefield, which makes some maps (mostly mods) hard to play in
-Multiplayer doesn't work (can probably get it to work using evolve or hamachi)
-Unit prices don't seem realistic
-Can be hard to manage all information
-AI does some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (attacking high level space stations with ground units in transports)
-Auto resolve always puts the enemy in favor

Overall, really fun game with great mods.

My friend gifted this to me a few years ago, after we were discussing its success on the mobile platform. It really didn't develop much past that. I'd buy it for the current sale price ($1.69 CDN) but I would not spend 16.99 on it.

Pros:
-Fun, easy gameplay
-Satisfying seeing your custom units engage enemies
-Different ways to build teams
-Good on low-end computers

Cons:
-Gameplay is limited in controls. Either you hold the entire turn, or walk to a certain point. If you have 2 people on either side of the door and want to make an entry without getting them both killed instantly, you need to make one take a few steps back and then move through the door, which hinders how far he can move in the turn.
-Customization is good but needs fixing. A JPC does not offer as much protection as over vests in the game, and its just as heavy as some of the other vests.
-Fix CADPAT uniforms.
-Again, I get this is turned based, but why can't I tell them to wait 2 seconds before entering so the frag or flashbang can go off?

That's basically as far as this goes. Again, development did not seem to continue after it made its transfer to the world of PC gaming. It's a fun game, but I'll stick to it on my phone.

The only problem I have with this game is the instability of some mods and I need to restart my monitor because, it being an older game, messages with the contrast and I'm not quite sure why.

This game carried me through so many instances of boredom. From the ease of the LA mod to the difficulty of the Mayberry or Manhattan Mod (angery react only)
