It's ok I guess. It's a lot of the same stuff from Losomn but a fun experience.

It was hard to rate this game since it's entirely a walking simulator. No combat design, no inventory, no adventure open world. This is a very linear story, but it does it well. There were parts that really drew me into the story, and other parts that I just felt a little bored of. Overall, this is a game worth playing when it is on sale. but nothing else.

I have not scratched much of the surface for this game yet, but it has been very fun so far. Initially I was discouraged by the turn based combat system, but gradually as you learn how the combat works it can be very rewarding to plan out how you take on an enemy encounter. The over-arching story is simple enough and has yet to really grip me, however the side characters you meet along the way are very well done. It’s very easy to get immersed in this world

One of the most underrated games out there. If you like good combat systems, then this is likely the perfect game for you. Some of the best boss designs in any game out there and lots of unique build diversity. 100% recommend

I've changed my review a few times now which goes to show just how chaotic this game's life-cycle has been. Here's what's great about New World:
- The sense of community and "living in the world" feeling you get when the playerbase is high is top tier
- The combat is unbeatable. Like seriously. It's why I have so many hours in this game.
- The sound design/immersion is the best of its class

Here's some of its faults:
- Devs are slow to add content
- Endgame is good, but don't expect to be blown away by all there is to do. There is still enough for 95% of players to get enjoyment out of it though.
- Bugs sometimes take some time to be patched, but usually the game breaking ones are fixed "relatively" quickly

Overall, Play this game when it launches on console on October 15 and just enjoy the ride.

Finally the game is out of beta and I can recommend it with the 2.0 update. A few standout improvements come from the hundreds (probably thousands) of bug fixes, armor not being attached to clothing, and generally improved combat. The biggest deterrent for me on launch, other than the glaring visual bugs, was the stale combat. It just felt repetitive and unrewarding. My current playthrough of the 2.0 update I am noticing a substantial improvement to the perks you acquire to make combat feel fun. I'm doing throwing knives/blades with a focus on air mobility. And I have to say, it's a lot more fun than I thought it'd be.
