I was talking with a friend making a tier list of Valve games. And I couldn't avoid putting portal 1 in S (the best score of the tier list). And the conversation got so out of hand that 16 years later I'm going to make a review of this game, that nobody will read, but I have to get it out of my head. I know it says I only played 20 minutes, but mainly because all my life in before 2018 I played Valve games on the Playstaiton 3 with the Orange Box due to not having a pc at the time.

Now. let me start by saying that Portal 1 is fu**ing amazing, and why? Well, mainly because it's one of the only Valve game that tells a deep, dark story through feelings. what the f**k do I mean by that? well, for starters:
Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead or any Valve game are especially known for their stories, and little stories also told through the world, without dialogue or anything, just what you have on screen, with things that are obvious and outstanding or not so much. (as for example in Half-Life 2 Episode 2, the famous couple of skeletons on a sofa sitting as if they were embracing each other in their last moments.)
But Portal 1 takes that to another level because it's not something you notice at a glance... it's something psychological, play portal 1 completely focused on everything that's going on in the game at 1 o'clock in the morning with everything turned off and nothing to distract you. and you'll completely understand what i'm talking about.
There is a constant dread that something is not right... everything is very clean but at the same time dirty, as if more people had been there, but there is nobody. absolutely nobody, the sounds and the ambience add a lot to that feeling, what's going on here? it's all as if people were inhabiting it, everything as if out of nowhere people had disappeared... but what about this robot that is talking to me all the time in speakers? she talks like if she knows that I'm alone, so nobody disappeared out of nowhere, in here something happened, something bad? What is this place supposed to be in the first place, a laboratory? were there more people in my same place?

I prefer to avoid spoilers, but that's the constant feeling one can feel with Portal 1. An incredibly well told story, a world made PERFECTLY with golden tweezers, everything designed to be fantastic, and to vary very short, you can complete it in a free afternoon, what are you waiting for? what are you doing reading this in the first place?! Play it! and if you already played it, play it again <3
