In the distant December of 2008, G3H (GeXeH) published their work—SledBuild game mode for Garry's Mod 10—on the "garrysmod.org" platform. It was through the development of this mode that the author gained an initial understanding of programming fundamentals.

On January 24, 2013, Robinkooli ported the work to the Workshop Beta for Garry's Mod, offering an updated and refined version of the mode for Garry's Mod 13.
