Nice much needed remake of Final Fantasy 3.
Not my favorite Final Fantasy, of the ones I have beaten(1-10 and 12)...
I would say 9, 12, 6, 10, 7, 4, 5, 2, 3, 8, 1 is the order I rank them.

It should be noted that the game is a LITTLE buggy, it doesn't remember your preferred rendering settings. If you unplug your controller in the middle of the game, you have to shut it down and start it back up again or else it can't find it. The window sizes do not match the render resolutions. The game would ocasionally go crazy with my controller and scroll like crazy(as if I was holding down the d-pad or analog stick in one direction); I would have to jiggle the analog stick to get it to stop; It is not my controller, it is definitely the game. Other than that, it plays fine without any real problems.

But there is no such thing as a bad Final Fantasy game and even FF1 is a pretty good game.
The thing that really strikes me about this one is that there are no ethers.
I haven't played played the NES version of this game, so I cannot really give a good comparison, but I would imagine that it is way better than the original.

Adding the Onion class was a nice touch, it really made the job system useless though; this is because the onion class can perform all magic except summoning and can equip all weapons and armor(except for that of the level 99 special weapons/armor that are made for specific jobs). Using the onion class, I was able to beat the game at level 62 in 38 hours(which might not be accurate seeing as some times I paused the game and walked away from it).

I really did enjoy it, can't wait to play FF13 and FF15(not a big fan of monthly subscriptions required to play FF11 and FF14, so I will probably skip those)

I give it an 8/10.

First in the series... Definitely should be the first one you play.

My biggest complaint about this game is that there are no rewards for getting the bonuses or killing templars.

Other than that, really fun.
But so far, I think AC2 is my favorite, followed by AC: Brotherhood tied with AC: Revelations...
Each one has better gameplay, but AC2 had unique puzzled temples which were intriguing to climb through.

I am about to start on AC3 now.

Excellent game. One of the best FPS games.
About on par with Halo 2, better than Quake 4, better than Crysis 1 and Crysis: Warhead.
Worth buying.

The only thing that really bothered me about this game is the fact that there was no final boss, which I found very odd.
Because of this, the final area was very anticlimactic.

Minor drawing error with the front sight on ironsight weapons where the front part of the iron sight(green in color) blurs.
Also a minor problem with the game not telling me my total ammo amount all the time(was this intentional to show that the suit was malfunctioning?) But when I would switch weapons back and forth, the ammo readout was correct.

Using an AMD Radeon HD4850 GPU.

Once you fix the compatibility issues with the game, installing legacy PhysX drivers(and yes, they work with AMD cards too, not just Nvidia)... the game is great.

A huge improvement over the original, removing all the unnecessary tedious elements from the game, and a lot of fun.

Tropico 3's soundtrack is 20x better than Tropico 4.

Gamewise, Tropico 4 is a better game.

The problem with Tropico is there is no penalty for going into excessive debt(meaning beyond 20k in deby), other than not being able to suppress a revolution if you do not have an already existing army of appropriate size.

Maybe this is linked to the Keynesian attitude of the US...
On top of that, the inflation rates of the "print money" mandate are extremely exaggerated(a permanent 30% increase? really? you arent even going to compare it to real GDP or total assets?). The percentage increase of buildings should gradually go up for the next 3 years, then decline gradually for 3 years afterwards.

I think that there should be a pentalty for excessive debt(-20k or more in debt), and that penalty should be that you get to choose between a foreign nation either sending paid rebels to your island(which also, consequently gains respect with the nationalists) OR you forfeit a building asset to a foreign power and dont pay the employee salary(and consequently lose respect with nationalists).

That seems like a more interesting system since there is no (in-game) penalty for excessive debt.

I am sort of conflicted by this game because Tropico 4 is definitely a more fascinating game(more in-game options.

But Tropico 3 has a much more interesting sound-file set(especially music-wise... but other aspects of the sound were better too, such as the reactions of characters when you would click on them).

I love it.

This reminds me of what Fallout 1 and 2 were before Fallout became a 3D game.

It is like a badass modern version of original Fallout games.

I just love it... The original Shadowrun was one of the top 15 best RPGs for the SNES and this is true to the feel of the game.

Never at any point in the game did the game feel tedious or did the story feel slow moving or did the game feel like there was unnecessary filler. The characters were well developed. The story and music and sound effects were good. I love that the game uses a leveling system similar to that of Mass Effect.

My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, and I kind of wish that traveling in the game had like a world map(or something).

I enjoyed it, not Double Fine's best work but it is fun and creative.

I do seem to get a bit of motion sickness with this game(I think there is v-syncing problems causing this? since I usually dont get motion sickness from games).

Pluses:
Jack Black, Ozzy, Lemmy.
Great soundtrack.
A heavy-metal world.
Decent gameplay and graphics.
Stage battles were fun.
Main missions were fun.
Hunter missions were fun.

Minuses:
The game never taught you how to unlock the "artifacts of legend"(had to read it online).
Side missions and dialogue from them felt uninspired(it was just filler content).
The racing was fun, but there were serious functional problems with it. If the opponent runs into you, you get severely knocked off course but they dont get affected at all, so they can run into your hind side a little bit and basically make you drive into a wall. Some of the items in the courses seemed like you shouldnt bee able to run through them and you could, while others you could run through and seemed like you shouldnt be able to.
The hunter missions should have shown you a picture of the beast you were going after.
I wish there were location maps for all the stuff to see/acquire(at least after you beat it it would unlock all the locations depending on the difficulty you beat it).
Should have had an option for replaying the stage battles when you wanted to... just cause they were fun.
Game gave me motion sickness, couldnt play more than 2 hours at a time(I think there was an engine rendering problem causing this).

Other thoughts:
Part 2 should include industrial music, punk rock, hard rock, grunge worlds(maybe more, but all rock stuff).
Maybe other instruments(a bass guitar, drums, keyboard, mic)

But yeah... I liked it a lot, but I also have complaints.. I felt like this game was only 80% complete.

Fun.
Simple.
It is basically a cool modern version of Gauntlet.

Wish there was a bit of a story to it....
I wish they made it clear that the planks are necessary to getting the "good" ending.

But yeah, the fun is in the journey in this one.

I love this game.... its a blast. Actually picked up a little Spanish from playing it.

It can be funny, it can also make you understand how people in the islands are under constant oppression and sometimes threat of foreign invasion. Makes you think about social structures, economics, foreign/domestic policy quite a bit.

Seems like something that political science and economics majors would love.
