The campaign is an absolute delight to play through once you get past the insane amount of glare and bloom throughout the world.

Weapons feel responsive and the audio behind every trigger pull or explosion is an eargasm for the senses.
The dialogue can be hit and miss and the story does feel like a generic war movie.

As for multiplayer, I had tried to join a couple of Australian servers (for the low ping) and was met with being KICKED after just a couple of minutes and no explanation why, so I just gave up on the multiplayer all together.

Picked this up in a sale for $5AUD and is worth the price of admission alone for the campaign, which even on HARD wasn't too difficult.

First time sitting down and playing this game for the first time in nearly a decade and back then I could never get into it, once I made it to Vegas I was either stuck, or failed.

This time around I felt completely immersed and had an absolute blast.
The dialogue and exposition is far too excessive but the gameplay and progression is what kept me going throughout.
Had a few quality of life mods installed to make it look a little nicer but overall, played the raw experience and tackled all of the DLC as well.

The DLC is very hit and miss, and can be played without but found doing so helped to level up my character so much that I could talk my way through the end of the main game.

I played a primarily melee build and just enjoyed the quests.
Some of them were more frustrating with trial and error than others but couldn't put this game down if I tried.

Will I replay it again?
Not anytime soon.

But overall, incredible experience with a few downer parts (especially most of the DLC)

This game holds up surprisingly well over 19 years after release!
Having played through this numerous times in the mid to late 2000s, it was always up there as one of my favourites in the series!
The PC version runs insanely well for an older title, being locked at 60fps but still looking as gorgeous as a Gamecube game can!

Controls feel off when using a keyboard and mouse, but using a controller (as it was designed for it) feels perfect with it!

For a mobile game from 2013, this thing holds up for some dumb fun!!!

i originally played this on Xbox back when it was one of the first GAMES WITH GOLD on the Xbox One but even then I was impressed.
Missions are short, no longer than 5 minutes, so you get your dopamine fix real quick!

Cannot recommend this enough to anyone!!!

Purchased for $1.20AUD and got my money's worth and then some!!!

Riptide feels like an expansion for the OG Dead Island.

Whilst this game is fun with friends, I didn't find it as engaging as the original.
The open world here is fine but found it annoying how the quest lines on the map that guide you to objectives don't appear until you're closer to it.
This was an issue in a handful of quests.
Also sometimes parts of a quest wouldn't load unless I had restarted the game, the bug with levelling up no progressing unless using a controller occurred again (similar to OG Dead Island) and times where you get stuck in parts of the map that cause a restart.

Fun game if you like the original, just don't expect it to be any better.

This game was everything I wanted from it for the price and paid and it overdelivered!
Simple, yet engaging RPG-like mechanics, basic weapon modifications and light crafting as to not overwhelm players.
The levels seem open but linear, giving the sense of freedom yet keeping the pacing frantic, yet structured.

When I saw this on sale and heard it was from the people who made the recent ROBOCOP game, I had to give it a go.

---side note---
The DLC is faster, more action packed, yet shorter but has a few more bugs and issues but overall the game is phenomenal!

Solid game in 2023!
Still feels janky and the constant fetch quests can be annoying but solid fun with others and weapon crafting is top notch in this game!

Shooting guns is terrible.

LOVE IT!

The game runs almost flawlessly and looks incredible and seems like a true evolution to the series!
There are some major downsides, like upgrading your car and getting locked in an infinite loading screen, or when you do 20 minutes of practice and qualifying in Multiplayer just to be booted to the menu and wasted your time.
Solid game, keen to see more tracks added and more hours to sink into it!

This game 100% holds up after all these years!
Whilst the map is smaller than Arkham City and Knight, the game is super polished, fluent and overall fun to blast through.

Whilst the Crime Investigation portions throughout the game are unique to this one entry, and despite them slowing down the pace from time to time AND being developed by someone else, this game is 100% worth your money!

Fun arcade racer and full customisable track editor and painting the cars is fun!
But as a single player experience, it gets boring after a while. Some of the challenges and secrets you need a guide to figure out and the difficulty between normal and anything higher is a steep curve which feels super unfair.
Perfect game for kids.
