Counter Strike: A Problem-Filled Experience

As much as I don't want to call it that, it's starting to get problematic for the lifecycle of our beloved game, and about damn time that we show our friends at Valve how much we care for our favorite first person shooter in the state that it currently is. At this state, I won't be keeping my mouth shut, just like how Valve doesn't care for CS.

The game is problematic from top to bottom. Most of the time, AWP flick shots land behind where you're aiming. There's no consistency whatsoever in gunplay. When you shoot the enemy — they usually won't register a hit but when you shoot a wall — somehow it registers as a headshot. A teammate who passed by seconds ago somehow still seems to be in front of me and takes a bullet to the head, instead of the enemy.

Cheating or most importantly, the Anti Cheat that we were promised is yet another disaster. VACnet is nowhere near great and in most of the cases straight up insufficient even in cases when the enemy is rage-cheating. Deathmatch and other modes are unplayable due to bot accounts farming weekly rewards. People don't want to install various third-party services just to play one clean match.

The subtick system is beyond broken and in my honest opinion, should be scrapped entirely. It doesn’t work as we were told — tick intervals still exist and even affect how fast players or objects start accelerating and even how peeking feels in-game. Sometimes, your peeks seem like you're sliding on butter and sometimes, on straight up sandpaper in terms of friction. Errors that never occurred on 64-tick servers pre-CS2 happen frequently on post-subtick-CS2 servers.

The smoke bug that was fixed in CS:GO somehow works again in CS2. Even at Majors, the most prestigious & biggest tournaments of CS (where issues this severe shouldn't happen under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE), bullet registration and hitbox issues occurred on LAN. So it’s not just us — the problems are clearly visible even at the professional, on-stage level. None of the issues we complained about for years in CS:GO have been fixed, not even starting on the fact of CS2-only glitches and bugs — in fact, these CS:GO bugs only seems to have worsened in CS2. And while all this is happening, Valve releasing new skins honestly feels like mockery. So I want to conclude this by shooting a question to Valve:

When’s the new skin collection dropping then?
