This game had an amazing start. A decent continuation. And a god awful finish, including the DLC. The story ended on an awful unexplained note, the last fight is straight up JRPG or non-existent depending on which ending you choose, and the extra added in the DLC is continuation of the earlier one in a very mean way.
Save yourself the trouble, buy the soundtrack and don't bother with the game.
P.S. you are, most likely, not getting all achievements in here, be warned. Oh and doing so would require over 5 playthroughs with unskippable cutscenes and pauses, so "Sekiro" but worse.
P.S. I did like the setting more than the other game mentioned above. I also liked the music more. Perhaps even the art style. But half or so of the combat was not a positive experience.
P.P.S. I'm somewhat sad I bought this before playing the whole thing like I usually did at the time with studios I don't have a previous positive relationship with.

It's a neat little game, though I kind of expected more. I guess liking the topics presented too much kind of hurt my experience at the end of the day, since I'm way too familiar. The presentation is nice, the experience is as well, so this is an overall recommendation. I liked it, but not too much.

Actual time spent playing up until this review: ~7h (the rest were card farming and breaks I took without closing it)
Other reviewers pointed out the availability of similar premise games but with GUI. This goes for the more stylistic approach, with bare minimal controls and simulation of an old OS. I really enjoyed my time with it, except a bit on pre-last puzzle was confusing.
The good thing is, as you probably already know, it is actually applicable logic design and not some puzzles created just for the player.
I suspect they might have wanted to make an expansion of sorts, or maybe a dlc, or just update with more tasks, but never got to it.
Game is still good, grab it during a discount if you vibe with the style and idea behind it.

Katana Zero beaten
Including all but 2 "replay the game but in hard/speedrun mode" cheevos
Took ~11 hours (the rest were cards farming before I decided to play it)

Audio-visual experience was very nice
Narrative.. ok. Interesting concept, well put into the gameplay but not enough details and things shown, there's so much more you could do there. Also, the ending is quite open — not exactly to interpretation, it just feels like it was planned as part one of a series.
Bosses were not tough enough for me — except the secret one. That was a good hour+ to finally be able to do it.
Some mechanics/timings sucked and pissed off — inconsistency of some actions resulting in very varying outcomes from minor changes in timings.
Same goes for the ai, its randomized but while in hotline it can be quite easily abused, here it's more punishing, thus sometimes feeling like undeserved deaths (I had to rest after beating 8 or 9 levels out of 11 and didnt beat the game in one sitting because some segments got to me. Which is extremely rare these days.)
But it is still quite good, especially for a one-time playthrough.
P.S. the soundtrack album, imo, felt even better than what I heard in the game, though that was good too.

a bit too repetitive, I got bored and tired of meh physics after first level. It's supposed to be chill but isn't very fun.

was really bad and dragged out in the first 3 chapters, the rest was pretty fun.
no speedup options makes getting achievements a real drag, so cheatengine to the rescue. some achievements have pretty bad triggers that could work earlier (i.e. do something 4 times — I did 3+ and it didn't work, now gotta replay whole chapter after learning what it is)
the mini-release they did was awesome but this dragged out for way too long and is essentially overrated. for a discounted price, it is actually a pretty good game.

TLDR: I wish I could recommend this game, but at this state, it is a pass. It has good core mechanics, it has decent dialogues, interesting concept, and a nice universe it's set in. I quite enjoyed the piloting too, and even the controls were absolutely fine for my taste/setup.
I liked the crumbles of the story, I liked the DLC characters (without the DLC it's quite empty, sadly, if you go for it, do buy the DLC), and I come from being in love with GoF2, the previous game by somewhat same people.
Now for the bad things..
I don't like the music, it's repetitive and triggers to things it shouldn't, I had the same fight song trigger on last fight of the run as previously and after that on a single turret engage.
I didn't like how you reach the end and the game goes "now you also need to hunt these down and come back here in next runs. Oh and do it 8 times"
I didn't like how it is inconsistent, several runs I died to near-0 speed collisions on accident cause I had no idea what to do (and had to consult the wiki next time)
I didn't like how I died in cutscenes.
I didn't like getting stuck in a sector and having to wait to die there because my game wanted to trigger 2 cutscenes in a row but couldn't, and it glitched it out. No idea what I'd do had I not damaged life support systems on the jump there, thus allowing me to wait till my character dies — trying to jump would get me stuck on white screen.
I didn't like teleporting right into a huge amount of enemies in <1000m range of me, instantly targeting me and killing, since I had little to no ammunition to get them.
I didn't like having the upgrade path of having to stick to a ship because otherwise you're stuck with no upgrades again (and oh boy those upgrades are very valuable)
I didn't like having to pause the game to instantly craft consumables (including rockets), order in repairs, and unpause with, suddenly, way more chances to survive an encounter. Sometimes you have to do it multiple times in a fight, and it feels cheap.
I didn't like how some enemies are inconsistent. Take ancients, for instance. I took one out without a scratch to my ship, went through wormhole, which moved me from middle of sector 2 to end of sector 4, barely got to the warp gate, got into a hostile environment, cleared that location, jumped out, went to another ancients structures location, and got nearly instakilled because my strafing (and this time I was outside of my own range, since I was trying to do something else before going for the main enemy) no longer worked against it and thus was obliterated in 3 shots, despite easily surviving ~20 in previous encounter which happened like 5-10 minutes earlier.
I also don't like how runs lasting 1h end up with nothing except a bit of money you can use on upgrades which are mostly purely incremental number ones, and yet are very impactful when compared from start to last level of an upgrade.
I am around 20 runs in, and would've finished the first success on run 10 had it not been for bugs and instakills. I did so on run 16, and the next few runs I died to same bs as previously described.
The game is hostile to you. You can play around it, but you have to cheese it. Or get lucky. Or both. Which is not fun. Especially when it's difficulty is in being inconsistent with multiple things and how they impact you. When you're not given enough resources to repair your ship but you get all the stuff in the world to fight. The only way to die, apart from glitches and accidental bumps into things, is by being overwhelmed by multiple (or huge, which basically work as multiple, since there's like 10 weapons on one, not to mention drones) ships. You're op, but game throws way too much at you at times. Which is cheap as well.
Oh, and not having a boss fight at the end sucked. The main villain has been killed by his own actions, and getting to "actual main" villain takes that "now bring 8 things here again", which is no fun to do (since that stuff doesn't get transferred between runs as well as anything else except for 1 resource).
P.S. using an access key and getting 2 of the same gun with same upgrades is stupid, and yet it happened nearly each time I went for the colonial stations and secure tech containers inside. Granted, you can salvage one and install the other, but then you're again seemingly likely to get the same thing in next secure container, and by that point it feels like the game's taking a piss at ya.

Probably the best visual novel I've ever heard of. Touchy feelings, be warned for sad stuff though.

It's pretty simple, cute and short. Nice art, decent abilities, pretty good movement. Alright soundtrack.
Took like 5 hours, 100% completion (but not all achievements) (The rest of time was me leaving for a break without closing the game)
Would take like 3.5 instead if I didn't accidentally break the sequence by going into one place instead of the other, making that section quite a bit harder. Same with getting an upgrade in a different place, if I were to do it earlier, would've been a bit easier.
Overall, can recommend for a night or two.

The game had been fun. Until this was created. And it's ♥♥♥♥♥. The idea could've been good (ISH) but after just 2 hours this gets boring, tideous and EXTREMELY repetitive. The enemy spawns are crap, the guns don't indicate that they're out of ammo, the powerups are ass, and there's like a dozen of levels with a few that are EXTREMELY open and hard to safely navigate around. Also, hitboxes and animations are at times really jank.
My recommendation would be to skip, even if you really like superhot. It's just not the same thing, and it's simply worse.
