A unique computer game-book and an unforgettable experience that is almost worth intentionally causing yourself amnesia for.

Classic gameplay, coupled with mature gloomy story and excellent visuals. The overall sound design and music are amazingly evocative. It's a 10/10 and I would recommend it to any real old-school CRPG fans.

Not as obtuse or outdated as you might have been led to believe, but it might take you a couple of hours to get used to the ins and outs. Make sure to grab a different soundfont than default windows' one.

This Is What You Want... This Is What You Get.

Although this remake is Inferior to the original's Enhanced Edition in many ways (which to be fair is largely incomprehensible to modern audiences), it manages to capture the slow, methodical exploration and combat of the original release. Unfortunately, to me all the extra drawn-out, over-exaggerated animations, slow as molasses cyberspace sections and the junk recycling mechanic bog down the playthroughs a bit too much. Though, to be fair, all of these aspects can easily be modded.
All of that leads to an experience that through sluggish gameplay emulates original 94-95 release's struggle with it's obtuse control scheme.

If you are looking for a more fast-paced (late 90's esque) experience, then I'd suggest trying out the Enhanced Edition.

Pros:
Three hours of awesome music.
Great artbook.
A new look for your voidship to spice up your 3rd/4th playthrough.
A chance to support one of the few devs that create oldschool crpgs.

Cons:
Needs more wallpapers.
