I tried playing this game and it felt like learning an entire new language.

Combat is super fun, even if I can never remember all the controls and moves you can use.

So much better of a game than it has any business being. Honestly I figured they would just take the concept of a paper airplane and phone in the rest of the game. But in reality Life slide is full of fun mechanics, and enough variation to keep you entertained. It's very polished and is a wonderful game that's deeper than you'd expect.

Would't let me create a battle.net account so I couldn't actually play. The incompetence is astounding.

The game mechanics are best described as wide but shallow. They're constantly different, which is nice, but while playing it's rare for me to think "this is super fun." I often consider abandoning the game, but the freshness just keeps bringing me back in. The replay value is near zero, but the gameplay loop is fun in a pokemon go collect-a-fest sort of way.

This was a cute game, but is unfortunately abandoned. People in the forums have reported their save files disappear (mine did after 20+ hours of building my town).

I bought the game because of how well it ran on Steamplay. Then the developer added EAC which broke Steamplay completely and I can no longer play the game I paid for. Although I understand why they did, because they made such a major modification breaking my access to the game after I paid for it I believe I deserve a refund. I was denied a refund after trying. Since they're not being offered this review is my only recourse.

I would 100% buy the game again if I could play it on my machine.

Honestly, the first 7 or 8 hours of playtime I thought this was gong to be a good-not-great game. The procedural generation does its job, making play-throughs new and unique. But it also has its drawbacks compared to track design by humans. For example, sometimes the track increases in elevation just before a jump, so you don't have enough speeds to complete it. Also, sometimes the track leading up to a jump points you in one direction, while you need to be going the other direction to hit the landing.

In addition, the jumps themselves aren't actually procedurally generated, only the track direction and elevation is. So for the most part those can get repetitive.

That is, until I unlocked the desert map type, which changed everything. In the desert map, the jumps are all mounds of dirt. They're procedurally generated, so every jump and becomes different, and a great challenge to plan your route to maximize speed and distance. It's so much more fun and *creative* this way. The desert map is the highlight of the game for me, and makes the game from good to great. So do yourself a favor and keep playing until you get to try it out.
