Objectively the best episode of 9-nine (so far at least).

With a better focus on action, story and featuring arguably the best romance development out of the other two heroines explored, Episode 3 proves that the series is improving and shaping up for a great finale. The twists coupled with greater stakes make up a very compelling read, I'm also glad to see Haruka finally have her time to shine.

The next episode sounds very interesting based off of a certain development near the end. Looking forward to reading it.

Two more catgirls (again).

Vol. 3 not only focuses on Maple and Cinnamon, but also offers a (albeit very small) glimpse at Nekopara's world through some of the story's themes. Things like the status of its catgirls, and how they're perceived. By focusing on some of its world a bit more, I believe the volume already has a leg up from the others.

I also felt its story was stronger, by not just having the duo's growth be realized, but by also giving them a passion that they share. It really was a nice touch to their bond, to make them feel like genuine friends, different from Azuki and Coconut who possess a sisterly bond for example.

It's a bit late to realize this now, but I really love these games. This volume's story in particular has reminded me that Nekopara is more than just catgirl sex (certainly not discrediting it though). Maybe I've grown attached to the characters of La Soleil and their fun antics... but what am I saying right?

Two more catgirls.

Volume 2 features Azuki and Coconut, bringing a theme of sisterly love. As always of Nekopara, great art, music, voice acting, etc.

While this volume did a great job on fleshing out its focus characters, it had a problem of implementing the other characters into its plot, for example, Cinnamon and Maple were barely present here, would the same be true for Azuki and Coconut in Vol. 3?

I still enjoyed the Vol. 2 however, Azuki was and is my favorite catgirl and seeing her dynamic with Coconut let me understand the both of them better, I’m sure Vol. 3 will follow suit with Cinnamon and Maple.

Overall, solid read. The obligatory “If you liked the first game, you’ll like this” rings true here.

Short and sweet.

Volume 0 is a fandisc, which in this case, is a short prequel that acts as bonus content. In context of release dates, this came out before Volume 2 so this was for fans while they wait.

The narrative follows the catgirls (and Shigure) as they go through a regular day together, this time in their household, while Kashou is absent. It does a great job in showing all of the characters properly and their dynamics, something Volume 1 lacked because it was mainly focused on Chocola and Vanilla.

If you came from Volume 1, consider playing this next, it’s quite short with a length of about an hour, but it’s still enjoyable nonetheless.

Also, you can pet everyone. It’s adorable.

Look, don’t think too hard about it.

Nekopara is a kinetic (linear story) visual novel featuring a lot of cute cat girls with about a length of 6-7 hours.

The story itself is fine, there were some good moments in it but no way is anyone actually playing this just for that. The art / visuals on the other hand are great and is definitely what carries the series. Voice acting is good as well, they do a great job with their characters. As a special mention, I really liked the UI / menu design, it fits the theme and is easy to navigate.

If you like cute things, great. If you like catgirls, even better. If you feel ashamed at yourself by buying this remember, there are over 22,000 reviews on this game here on Steam as of writing this. It doesn’t matter if they’re all joke reviews, that’s still a lot.

If you end up enjoying Nekopara, more power to you. I know I did and I’ll definitely be playing the other volumes in the future.

A great follow-up to episode 1.

With more plot development and action for those who were interested in 9-nine's premise that episode 1 introduced, but also more slice of life interaction mixed in to get to know more of the characters, episode 2 feels like where the 9-nine series really starts whereas episode 1 is more for setting the scene.

I was thoroughly surprised at how the episode created circumstances to develop its relationship in a believable way despite the taboo concept. I found it to be impactful, if anything it was much more interesting than the vanilla romance we get in episode 1…

9-nine seems to be heading in the right direction, and so I’m hoping for the best.

A sports VN with romance in it.

With the sport alone, Aokana certainly has promise.
It explains the basic rules well to get you to follow what's going on in a match but the inner complexity and attention to detail in the sport is what makes the concept feel so believable.

That being said, the romance… is certainly there I suppose. While not bad, it’s just not the focus. It doesn’t help that MC is bland as hell.

If Aokana’s sport peaks your interest at all however, I’d say it’s worth a read.

For about 13-15 hours of content, this really blew me away.

The art, soundtrack and voice acting are all superb and the plot, although starts off slow, builds up into a roller coaster of emotions which the ending wraps up rather nicely. All of these things made not only the characters feel real, but also the situation that the world is in.

If I were to have any problems, it would be with some plot holes present. I felt some things went unexplained, leaving me with some questions but I'm not going to go into those in this review. Also caught some grammatical errors while reading but they were minor enough so I won't count them.

In conclusion, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a (mostly) kinetic visual novel that’s a pretty quick read.

(EDIT: The anime adaptation is out as well!)

I love Doki Doki Literature Club. It gave me such a unique experience that I will never forget and like many, got me into visual novels in general.

Despite DDLC Plus not adding much to the original experience in general, it was still a great time once again.

Featuring six short but heartwarming side stories going into how the literature club was formed, a handful of new music tracks, unlockable concept drawings and overall upgraded visuals. I'd recommend this to anyone who has played DDLC before or even if you're just finding out now about the game.
