💬 Review after 196 hours — 3/5

I wanted to love Dune: Awakening.
The setting? Iconic. The visuals? Stunning. The potential? Massive.
But after nearly 200 hours, I’m left with more frustration than satisfaction.

This isn’t an MMO. It’s a survival game dressed in MMO robes — and the outfit doesn’t fit.

🌵 The PvE Update: An Empty Promise

The recent expansion of the Deep Desert PvE zone sounds great on paper — but in practice, it’s a vast, barren sandbox of disappointment.
The southern half of the map is now PvE, but it’s mostly useless:
Low-tier nodes (aluminum, copper), no rare resources, no dynamic events, no meaningful content.

Sure, you can now build farther from the entrance without being harassed — but what’s the point if there’s nothing worth building for?

In fact, the old Deep Desert was better. Resources were denser and closer.
Now you’re stuck flying north for 10–15 minutes straight — over endless sand — just to maybe find a decent node.
It’s not challenging. It’s just boring.

⚔️ PvP Masquerading as MMO

Despite all the MMO marketing, the game is free-for-all PvP at its core.
Faction choice is meaningless — even NPCs from your own house (e.g. Atreides) will attack you.
There are no faction wars, no coordinated objectives, no purpose to allegiance. Just chaos.

On the ground, PvP can be fun — clunky and buggy, yes, but occasionally intense.
In the air? Not so much. Aerial combat is shallow and unbalanced — it comes down to who has more people and who spams rockets better. There’s barely any skill ceiling, just gank-or-be-ganked gameplay.

⏳ What Still Works

The world feels like Dune.

The main story is well-written and well-acted.

Base-building is solid, if you enjoy that loop.

Worms are terrifying in the best possible way.

🕳️ What’s Missing

Any meaningful PvE endgame.

Dungeons, raids, instanced challenges — all absent.

A reason to keep playing past 100 hours if you’re not into PvP.

A real use for factions.

That old-school Funcom spark — the kind that made Anarchy Online legendary.

🎤 Final Words

Dune: Awakening has all the pieces to become something great.
But right now, it’s a beautiful, empty shell — a mirage with great bones and no meat.

If you’re into survival loops and PvP squads, you might last longer.
But if you came here for a rich MMO with systems, progression, and story-driven endgame — you’ll hit a wall fast.

I expected more from Funcom.
This could’ve been Anarchy Online on Arrakis.
Instead, it’s Conan on Arrakis.

The game tried to have an interesting story that wasn't bad at all, but it was marred by a large amount of long dialogue. The 20 minute quests ruined the game experience for me. animation, 300y to the next quest, another 20 minutes of animation. By the end of the game I didn't even know what it was because I was so bored. I have to force myself to get through this game. I started skipping side quests because they were so boring. Open world is not happening. It's more or less just a couple of levels connected by corridors. I have been a long time fan of the FF brand but was disappointed. I know SE is good for more than this. Why can't it be done like it was in Xenoblade? Or in Xenoblade chronicles X? That's exactly the semi-open world that works. Not these pseudo-beautiful textures that are supposed to evoke the concept of realism, but then you look at the characters and you feel as if they don't belong there at all. As if they were stuck there. They don't match the environment at all. Zelda also has a beautiful art style. It's not just about polygons and ultra 128k textures. After a few hours, that goes by the wayside when the player gets bored in the game. Besides, the graphics aren't that great either. Wu Kong took it further and somehow I don't like that game either. And finally, I will never understand the absence of UW resolution and FPS lock. Is it written in the Japanese Constitution that you will screw up the players by doing everything only in 16:9 and at 30fps? I'd sum it up as 150GB of boredom and QTE

This game is exactly like the first Dragon’s Dogma in a more beautiful graphical coat. Controls, mechanics, combat – I’m personally satisfied and don’t understand the hate towards this game. It’s fantastic. Regarding optimization, on an RTX 4070 and i5-13400F at a resolution of 3440x1440, it runs beautifully on high details without ray tracing. As for microtransactions, I personally dislike them, but this game doesn’t force you into them. Everything can be obtained over time in the game, just like in the first installment. At least there are no ads popping up when opening the map, unlike some competitors. The game is good; I got exactly what I expected. Thank you.

for 30 euros, I expected more than just a mount, new weapons and a couple of quests. I passed the DLC in about 10 hours and I still have nothing to do in this game. It is a pity. The game is dead, the dungeons are no longer walkable. If you don't like PvP, this game is not for you, and the DLC doesn't add much to it.

Personally, I really like the game and I don't know why. The last time I was scolded like this was Conan Exiles. I have over 50 hours of playing there and I still have something to discover and do. Some bugs, crashes, shattering here and there, but it's still Early Access. I also like the game in terms of graphics, there are a lot of details that make the world come alive, such as birds and grasshoppers. There are also a lot of enemies and they alternate nicely, so I don't feel like I'm beating the same thing all the time. As for the battles, they are classically casual like in any survival game. If someone finds the fights easy, they can change the difficulty of the biome. I personally like Hard so far, but I'm slowly getting ready for Extreme. The three biomes are desert, forest and swamp. All three are beautifully done and I believe that there will be more of them in time. I am looking forward to all the news and updates that will come to this game.

After a long time FPS MP game that I enjoy. I can't play it at a professional level, but I really enjoy it. It is dynamic, beautiful, the game does not last long. You've already won me over personally. Thank you.

Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy game that allows players to build and manage their own civilization from ancient times to the modern era. The game offers a vast array of possibilities and challenges, making it an incredibly engaging and addictive experience.

One of the most notable features of Civilization VI is its graphics, which are stunning and detailed. The game is incredibly immersive, with each civilization having its unique characteristics, units, and buildings. The gameplay is both deep and complex, allowing players to engage with various systems and mechanics.

The game's AI is also impressive, with each civilization possessing its own unique strategy and playstyle. This makes every game feel different, and the game's replayability is incredibly high. The game's tutorial is also comprehensive and easy to follow, making it an excellent choice for players new to the series.

Overall, Civilization VI is an excellent strategy game that offers a vast amount of content and depth. Its stunning graphics and engaging gameplay make it an incredibly enjoyable experience that will keep players coming back for more. Highly recommended for fans of strategy games, or anyone looking for an engaging and immersive experience.

Neskutočná vec a klobúk dolu. Toľko možností, rozhodnutí, spôsobov a vplyvov som naozaj nečakal. Táto hra je nielen napínavá a občas na nervy, ale aj zábavná a štýl interaktivcného komixu ktomu dodáva ešte šmrnc. Ďakujem za tento klenot ♥♥♥

I've been playing this game for a long time and I can only recommend it. I really enjoyed it and took me back to the days of KOTOR games. The mechanics of the fights are great, so are the graphics, the world is captivating and the story is brilliant. I haven't been able to get away from this game for a long time, and I finally managed to do it when I moved it to one gulp. I highly recommend the game, it is a strong experience. For people who are looking for a good story, do not know or are thinking about what to play, I strongly recommend it.
