Early Access Review
I have been following this game since the beginning as I was a SWAT 4 & RBS V2 fan also and was really bummed about the fact that they binned Rainbow Six Patriots to make a Rainbow Six Siege ... which in my eyes has nothing to do with the Rainbow franchise. So that meant there was no spiritual successor to swat 4 or Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 for many years in that regard. There where a few indie game attempts but none of them really took the same approach to a SWAT 4 immersion aspect.

Now I didn't buy the 120 $ version as an early supporter, strictly cause it's not worth it in my opinion. Yes I do support but we gotta stay sane. You better off gifting it to 2 friends so you can play with them, haha.

So impressions of the Early access as this game isn't fully released yet. What do you get? You get about 7 missions, where 5 of them are really finished and 2 are test levels. You get about 20 + weapons and some general weapon customisation with it. (Sights/barrel/grips/flashlights/lasers.) The graphics and sounds are really good, triple A level. Game is build on UE4 and it shows, looks very nice and fps is very good for me. Weapons feel and sounds are really amazing they feel really solid and are a fun experience to shoot with. The AI is already very good but has of course room for further improvement.

Enemies are dynamic and not static, not all bad guys/girls have a weapon in their hand. If you don't pay attention they might pull one out of their pockets or their back and start opening up! Which adds to the general atmosphere when you enter a building everyone can be a potential threat, even if they are on their knees with their hands up! They can still get up and draw a weapon on you or run away. Only when you restrain them they are secure and can't be hostile to you. So this really creates a tense vibe when you go in with your teammates currently maxed to five!

These missions are all Co-op, so far there is no PVP element in the game, they will bring a PVP element to the game though. Although this is not the focus of this game! Co-Op, PVE is the bread and butter of this game. This isn't a fast paced shooter. There is no run, there are no frag grenades, shots on unarmed civilians will get heavy point deductions, friendly fire is on! You will have to move slow and methodical with your team to secure the area's and arrest/kill the bad guys.

Therefore this is best played with friends or a group of people that are willing to go slow and have good coms, on their discord you'll find loads of groups finding serious players. Going into a random public match you might experience idiots that just run and gun and mostly get killed, team kill you cause they find it funny or if they are the host leave when they die and so that makes everyone else disconnect from the mission. Although I also had some good random public matches where the communication is good and we where working like a solid team. But it's a bit of a hit and miss as this is with all Co-op games right ...

So if you like SWAT 4 or are looking for a more Swat real-life inspired game with slow and methodical movement this is your game to pick up! Yes it's early access so still lots more content and fixes to come! Is it worth the 40 $, to me yes! The early access at this moment is definable very playable and enjoyable! In the future we can expected more maps, guns and other stuff to be added. The thrill you have when going into the mission it's awesome, it's like a horror game in a way. It has you on the edge of your screen cause you don't know when a person might appear in front of you with lethal intent!
