This game just brought back some childhood memories of playing Zoo Tycoon. All over nice and cute game that has hours of fun and some challenge too. Only complain probably is that it gets very laggy once there is alot visitors and my can run most games with high and ultra graphics with no lag, but this one really challenges the frames when there are multiple visitors clumped together.

Ok, so.. Been waiting for this game to come out because me and my friends are big Phasmophobia fans. We were planning to play it with 4 man co-op, but me and another friend decided to go see how it works. It did not go well. During the 53 minutes that I kept trying I didn't even get to play the game properly. My friend played it for maybe 4 hours and would've probably refunded it if he could.

First of all. I don't think the co-op even works. Tried both Local co-op (with help of Hamachi) and Steam co-op and all it did was spawn my friend as "Rookie" on the board and his character is vibrating in the floor of the van and he could not see me at all. Also regardless who is the lobby leader, he was the only one who could start the van. If I touched any of the items in the van they would disappear for him. I would not see him moving anywhere or opening doors and eventually he would get launched out of the map into nothingness and I would be stuck there not being able to leave the game except by exiting the whole program. I could see him holding items in his hand and using them, but his character would never leave the van for me and just spaz out inside the floor.

I watched him play the game on singleplayer through Discord share screen and it just seemed very buggy and unpolished in general, not to mention the insane loading times for his computer. My computer runs it fine.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this game at this state. If you can look past the flaws I guess it can be playable as singleplayer, but I can almost gurantee it will be frustrating.

I might be coming back to the game when it's properly optimized and actually playable.

Tried this game with few friends and it was actually fun even though it can develop some trust issues since the game revolves around being able to deceive others. Lying and mindgames are your best weapon here. Especially when you have to keep a poker face in voice chat to ensure they don't find out you are the infected one. For a free-to-play I would recommend it, but I don't think I or any of my friends would actually pay for the game, because well.. The quality is what you would expect from a free-to-play game.

TL;DR
Good free-to-play game, fun with friends, personally not as appealing for solo play. Overall fun FPS multiplayer horror/strategy/teamwork game where lying is a strong weapon.

+ quick/average queue times

-+ Actually quite hard to win as infected
- not very appealing to solo play
- controls/shooting sometimes a bit clunky
- matchmaking is sometimes unfair (higher level players have more talents and have advantages if matched against low level/new players) < this is probably due to somewhat fast match queue times >
- Not sure if bug, but we noticed that the black woman character seems to be infected 90% of the time??? sup with that?

Edit: Some of the cons have been fixed. Lisa (black woman) isn't cursed to be infected every match now and seems like everything is working correctly in that end. Some new bugs have emerged though like disappearing props (like a truck in the forest map wasnt there and it was just invisible wall. Also friend of mine fell thru the world into nothingness. This was also on the Forest map. I have bought the DLC's now to support the game and have some extra monsters to choose from and cool new items to decorate our lovely survivors.

Honestly I don't think I would've ever tried this game if I didn't get it gifted to me by a friend for Xmas.
So obviously I had to give it a go and play with my friend. I got only 20 hours under my belt and I was pleasantly surprised. The game is actually quite fun - at least with friends. It's nice to figure out stuff and improve your tactical thinking during combat. Turn based combat has never been my favorite. I get bored easily of the waiting around, but it's different from my normal play style which is rather refreshing change of pace.
I'm going to keep playing the game probably until I have played through the whole story. I think so far I have only played through the First Act... soon twice. Decided to play another character after playing 13 hours on first save.
TL;DR - Skeptical about the game. Decided to give it a try after getting it as gift. Was pleasantly surprised and have enjoyed playing it and will continue to play it casually.
