This game is amazing, it is even worth it at the full price for the countless hours of entertainment it provides. If you can get it on sale that is a plus but I would not hesitate at all and just support the game and developers.

If your a fan of Warlock 2 your going to love this game while its not the same with empire building and all it is one of those games your going to be playing for a good long while because it is very challenging.

Warlock 2 never had a true ironman mode this game does and will punish you for making the wrong decisions in combat which I love hardcore games like that.

The graphics,music and missions are all A+ and the missions are designed very well and extremely challenging especially on ironman mode. I have lost many times but I keep coming back for more.

About the game:

You lead a small team of vikings and they build up overtime gaining experience and finding rare artifacts to help your army units. Losing them costs you lost resources such as Gold which does not come in great abundance especially early on so keeping your units alive is important. Some of your units eventually become veterans and become the backbone of your army.

Be prepared to be outnumbered pretty much all the time by 3 to 1 or even 10 to 1, so yes your enemies are very strong.

You conquer and raid settlements for money search ruins to find gold and artifacts and even units to join your army.
Your enemy will come in great numbers and countless waves of them and is sure to keep you on your toes for some time.

The best part is you'll enjoy the game very much, while the replay value is limited it makes up for it by being very hard to actually beat all the missions meaning if your going to play on ironman mode your going to die alot so embrace it and come back for more.

They also have an expansion pack I have not really played it much yet as I am trying to beat the impossible missions in the normal campaign but the expansion has random maps to offer a lot more replay value then the original campaign.

Then there is a new upcoming Empire Campaign coming soon so yes be prepared to spend countless hours trying to conquer each mission it starts off rather easy but gets hard very fast. If your sitting on the fence because of the Price tag the Price is justified because it is a true A+ title game and you'll love the music in this game.

This game is a true sequel to the original Fantasy General and it was done right. I never played the original for any strong length of time but I have enjoyed other old SSI games such as Sword of Aragon, Fantasy Empires to name a few...

I got this game about 3 days ago at the time of writing this review as I had the urge for a Dungeon crawler after playing so many 4x strategy games. I did play Legend of Grimrock but never finished and left it alone for along time and I knew the sequel came out so I did not bother looking at the sequel for 4+ years then recently the urge to play a Dungeon crawler game so I decided to get the game and wow the game is really great.

It is unfortunate there is no gold to be found in the game and probably no merchants which would complete Grimrock, but it does a good job at bringing a fun engaging combat experience with some hardcore ironman mode settings.

For example only being able to use the Crystal one time to raise your adventurers and save your game only once and your left in the dark until you can find the next Crystal otherwise you lose all that progress if you die and yes your party will die because it is not turn based everything is fast action pace and there will be times you get trapped with nowhere to move and the monsters will destroy you.

I think that is why I love this game because of the hardcore settings and the unique farmer class where you have to eat to gain experience and you get no experience from fighting monsters and the Alchemist class where your herbs will grow multiply in your backpack that is really good.

I recommend getting the game but at a sale price not the full price, you can check the internet for steam keys for this game as well to get a copy for fairly cheap.

This game is on par with Wizardry 8 except this is real time combat no pausing the way I like it.

While I appreciate the attempt to make a nice looking game I just cannot recommend this game.

This game is a spectator game and not a real 4x strategy game. I am glad I only paid $16.49 for this game.

Personally if I wanted to be a spectator I'd rather watch a movie at least it has a story to watch that keeps you entertained.

Folks just stick with Legendary Heroes Fallen Enchantress,Age of Wonders 3,Deity Empires,Warlock 2 & Eador Masters of the Broken world. You have full control over your units and you being a human your brain actually gets stimulated since you need to make decisions for your units instead of watch them fight with no direct control in this game...

I also could not get into Dominons 4 or 5 to much even though it had deep gameplay it is another spectator game. At the time of writing this review this game only has 15 reviews on steam and it has been out for months so it is obvious people just are not to interested in being a spectator.

I hate to give a bad review but I have to keep it real as many may end up paying $39.99 for a overpriced early access spectator game when u can easily find it for under 20 bucks if u search the internet and the design team does not want you to know this since they put one of my posts as a private message when I mentioned how much I got their game for. It is bad enough that you cannot control your units but then over charging for a game that is not fun at all? I just do not want to see folks get ripped off when they would rather me be quite because I care about others and wanted to take some time to write this review if folks are looking at this game and thinking of getting it.

If you look at all the positive reviews for this game your going to notice not much playtime it is because gamer's do not enjoy this game for any length of time I hate to knock on this game as I know they are trying to create a fun game experience but when you are a spectator it lacks stimulation to the human brain compared to games I mentioned above where your brain is active making decisions.

It is like watching somebody exercise compared to actually doing it feeling the burn and effect that about sums it up or watching somebody drink wine compared to drinking wine yourself and enjoying 80s music.

Or watching somebody goto the bank to deposit big money would you rather watch somebody do it or do it yourself?

Or here is a better one watching somebody eat pizza compared to eating pizza yourself or seafood buffet watching somebody enjoy all you can eat crab legs and shrimp while you sit idle as a spectator. I rest my case.

Anyways in my opinion if u want to utilize the graphics which I think is done good give direct control over your units and I may change my review to a positive and may try this game some more. Folks I highly suggest you put your time and money elsewhere since the developers here don't really care about player suggestions at all that being having direct control over your units.

I mentioned having direct control over your units to the developers they seem more interested in what the developers want and not what actual gamers want when it is the gamers that have the money which support their gaming projects. Put your money somewhere else with developers that actually listen and need your support money where gamers would gladly pay top dollars for features seen with a game they want to play.

I got Deity Empires for 2 bucks and have over 800 hours in that game and have played it for more then a year so yes I am resourceful to know how to find deals and it was the best 2 bucks I ever spent. Godking is a rip off spectator game with no player requested features being able to control your units with game. I am not talking about the world map I am talking about when battle commences.

Excellent game! Its a World without females except for a few that won't speak to you and having a great companion named Mud that loves to annoy and follow you around all the time. It's to bad I could not lead him to the Black Goblin Cave where 20-30 Goblins came out to chase and hunt me down where even the greatest bow cannot take them all on.

I find it interesting out of the 3 camps you get to choose from one camp are whacko's that love to smoke swamp weed in hopes of becoming a guru someday to be saved from the Sleeper their Divine Protector the greatest Whacko...

It's interesting that only Swamp Weed allows them to connect with the Sleeper through Dreams and Visions instead of an actual real prayer....

I give this game a 10/10

This is a game like no other where your items can gain levels you can place guards to protect your home town from other clans attacking while trying to adventure to gain experience you have to defend your town as well. This game is fun and Unforgiving meaning you can play Hardcore mode with 1 life and it is tough to survive in this game. There are plenty of skills to choose from aside from clans fighting each other which is the major selling point to this game one thing I really love about this game is all the work you put in winning one world all that work carry's over to the next world map for conquest so yes you do have win's and losses. It would of been better if they would give you perks for your faction for winning and negative perks for losing the same with the A.I's but this is a game like no other.

It is worth the full price and obviously the sale price. If you like 4x games but with real time combat it is like Diablo with Rpg Elements but blended in with Strategy for defending your town against other clans. Unfortunately games like Diablo 1-3 all you do is hunt in Dungeons which gets boring it is fun when Monsters invade your town and other clans and if they destroy your lifestone which has hit points you lose that map but its not the end if your main hero is alive you just lose the zone and get a lost. While your trying to recruit clan members of whom can go forage for food and forage for herbs for making potions for you another strategy aspect of trying to survive gives the player an element of strategy on decisions he or she will make that determines success or failure. Each world you start in is new and unique and dynamic meaning various events happen depending on what other clans are doing, the monsters are doing and I also know new clans can emerge overtime possibly being a new threat.

My Conclusion would be:
I would give this game a 10/10 rating

Pick it up its worth getting and if you'd like to try Coop play sometime feel free to add me as a friend but make sure you also have the DLC pack if you'd like to play as it adds many more features to the game. That information can be found on the forum of Zombasite here on steam regarding what the DLC pack gives the player.

It's rare to see this type of game, It has everything a Rpg Strategy lover would love that includes hardcore iron man mode where you will be rewarded for good decisions or have bad decisions. I prefer this over save scumming to get a desired result anyday.

To make life easier save your gold to try to buy a level 5 unit to help level up your newer warband members this is a big tip that helped my warband survived as the humans. I still suffered losses like my archers I had to get rid of since they lost their arm and are useless to me. The Level 5 unit I bought was a mere henchman that used a Spear and Shield and I focused on making him a parrying monster and it was a great sight seeing him take on 2v1 vs a enemy Sister leader and a blind folded type of sister with alittle help later in the fight from my Master Archer.

Now I got a mean Ogre I am trying to level up he is a great Impressive unit that likes to follow my Leader around to ensure my leader does not get swarmed...

Ok anyways I do highly recommend this game, I really hope they keep building upon this game as it is one of a kind. I like the Leveling systerm,iron man mode,disabilities your units can get from fighting everything is realistic.

I give this game a 10/10 as every fight is different and the warbands are fun to play I love the ongoing character progression. The only drawback is I cannot really play this game well on my home laptop so I gotta play it on the other Laptop at my lady's house since that laptop is built for gaming.

Update as I played the game some:

I Met a NPC in the first town of whom was level 2 and has 50+ In skills and over 200+ magic points where as your wizards have maybe 20 magic points which brings great inbalance to this game meaning the NPC can shoot magic missle and kill the mobs with ease which is a bit of a turn off to me. When I compare this game to Wizardry 8 of where monsters will hunt you down and NPC are balanced properly along with voice acting better graphics etc I have to say that Wizardry 8 is a much better game then this game.


I may play this game in the future but it does hurt the fun factor because what is attractive to a game like this is a challenge not a walk in the park being able to recruit NPCs to do all the work for you with ease. Folks may wish to hold off from buying this game until these things are fixed if they ever are. Also It can be hard to read description details of items and things in your character profile as the text is tiny especially when you examine items. I likely have to turn this into a negative updated review until this gets fixed as my original review was a positive for my first impression.


Another thing that hurts this game is the endless swarms of mobs I met some guards in the armoury the 2nd level of the starting area and you cannot hit them whatsoever and bugs are near impossible to kill. Of course if u recruit that NPC in the town its likely a walk in the park. This game suffers from being to hard or to easy, I've also found bugs in the game at the shop where u id the merchants wares for gold not yours and also when you try to recruit them it says there is no room when I have 2 more slots..

Character Portraits all look like Males did Cleve forget the Gender part? Wizardry 8 didn't forget this minor detail.

Also during Character Creation vs Wizardry 8 you can literally spend 4-6 hours making your characters trying to get descent rolls of near 40 compared to Wizardry 8 this is not a issue as u do not need to roll your assigned a set amount of points to distribute which hands down Wizardry 8 wins.

After 20 years or however long it took to make this game I am sorry to say I am just not impressed and now I regret my decision to buy the game even at $9.99
Folks just pick up Wizardry 8 everything is done correctly or go play Lords of Xulima, Kings Bounty the Legend, Or Spider web games where Jeff got it right in making a fantastic mini rpg series of games or Divinity Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity there are plenty of other choices out there where balance is corrected.

If the issues above ever get addressed it may be worth checking out this game again in the future but in its v2 state i do not recommend this game.

Well having been banned for over a year on his forum for Cleve thinking I wanted to pirate his space baby when all I wanted to do was see if its a game I wish to buy in the future as countless games are released with disappointment as yes I do support the games I wish to play for longevity as I've bought many A+ titles and yes I do buy indie games as well.

Aside from all the Drama however Cleve and this game has stuck in my mind for some time while he portrays himself as arrogant as I have read countless forum posts on google of why he feels he needs to make his body stronger each day and then reading how he wanted to do body harm or make threats to others in a legal fashion on youtube well aside from all of that I realize part of what he is doing is looking to brand himself in the minds of others so that did work but this type of game I do like so obviously that being the most important.

Rather then leave a negative comment and being banned on his forum for over a year, I am going to express some praise as I do like this game and I am not going to be like the majority of whom focus on drama and leaving negative remarks as being a good Christian that I am it is ungodly to do so. I do wanted to point out a few things, One can achieve great results without living for the world and thinking our body vessel is awe to important for it is God's temple and not our own as we all are part of the vine of Jesus Christ and we are all equals. As for getting sales, we should come in the mindset to be grateful that others wish to buy the game instead of thinking its the next best thing to slice bread as there are better ways of getting that point across in a Godly honorable way. The point is love and humility go along way and this positive review certainly proves that. Anyways Cleve and as for others if your a fan of Wizardry type games, I think this game will provide some fun enjoyment as I am still stuck in the character phase trying to get the rolls going.

I've played Rpg & Strategy games since the 80's-90's so yes I am a old timer so I do understand what Cleve has been trying to do here. I really do not have to play a game for any length of time to suggest getting this game as there are not many games like this out there and old timers know such games like these have potential to devote time to playing.

I do like a game that presents many options and stats and rolls, This game seems to provide a lot of options and a world to explore so is it worth the new price tag of $19.99 I would say yes but during any sale as I personally got it for $9.99 it is worth getting especially if your a fan of old time games that we all grew up with as young kids.

On a personal note to Cleve, I am not perfect nor are you or any others in Fact we are all sinners and the sooner we realize that the sooner we all can live in Harmony,peace and happiness. I know your proud of your achievement Cleve and your just being protective over your creation, Leave it in Jesus Christ's hands and allow it to be blessed if it is the blessed hopes will. Do not allow others comments to make you feel you need to defend yourself constantly that is just to much weight on ones shoulders and Allow Jesus Christ to help. This is a typical problem when one tries to live for the world and thus feeling as if one needs to constantly do everything that brings great drama and stress in ones life when we can live a stress free happy life by putting our trust in Jesus Christ.

While the Majority would normally hate you Cleve I do not hate you for what you've done to me, but I forgive you. I think you made a great game and yes I do support great games I like being Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, Age of Wonders 3,Skyrim,Kings Bounty The Legend and Expansion Packs,King Arthur the Wargame 1&2 & Expansion, Warlock 3,Wizardry 6,7,8,Civilization 5,Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes,Witcher 1,2 & 3, Avernum Escape from the Pit and other Spiderware games and countless more in my library if others can look pass the Drama they likely could enjoy the game. Perhaps this message could bring a change of direction in ones life as it only Glorify's Jesus Christ and brings great peace and healing into our lives.

I normally do not buy many games but I did buy this game. I like the vision the team is trying to build with this game. This is a fun small game to play to pass away some time while your inbetween games. There are a lot of magic items to find, monsters to fight and there is no limit to how many levels you can gain in the Arena basically alowing you to keep playing for as long as you want. I do believe the game will continue to get better and I have shared some ideas in their forum on how to make it even more interesting. I play a lot of games and this is one of the rare few ones you'll likely play for some time so for a low cost of $4 it's worth it as folks who buy it now will get the Adventure mode when it's released so I'd get it now before the price goes up as this game is worth more then the asking price so I'd take advantage of that.

Originally I gave Planars Conquest & Worlds of Magic a bad review mainly for being banned however because of Aaron he is the only reason why I am giving this game a positive review now after coming back and trying it out.

Aaron gave me $40 back out of his pocket when development team should of as a refund of having my time wasted for over a year. Well I have respect for Aaron the lead developer of this game but the rest of the Dev team I do not like, as for the game itself in its current state it is very challenging so the A.I stuff has been addressed. I do like the Heroes and the 7 Planes and the graphics are not bad. It would of been nice if they did the battle board alittle differently maybe more like Age of Wonders 2 Shadow Magic would have been good but its not a bad battle system it is acceptable.

So is this game worth picking up? I would say if you enjoy Masters of Magic then pick it up yes. It has a lot of replay value and I do feel bad for Aaron as I know he wanted to make this game work, well Aaron I will say this the game turned out not to bad while not the best its a descent game and worth playing for some time and coming back to ever now and then. I do wish you and your family well Aaron. Anyways I do plan on playing this game every now and then as what brought me to try it again was my recent games of playing Masters of Magic reliving that only to dive into this which helped me like Planars conquest more and also more importantly because of my respect for Aaron in doing what is right to make me happy and seeing that he wanted to try to make this work and seeing that the game is finally finished and not a complete mess like it used to be. As for Worlds of Magic I liked their paper doll on heroes more then whats seen in Planars conquest but it is ok... I deleted my old bad review and wanted to replace it with this new review as it took along time for this game to finally get done and was it worth it? Well yes and no meaning again its not a bad game but its not the best but if you like 4x games in general and did love Masters of Magic you'll most likely enjoy this game as well. When Sorcerer King came out it was fun for a bit but later got old to me. After trying Rivals out I like some of the spells one being able to invest 50 mana to improve your shard by 1 mana I think that is really cool. This is a great game, you will enjoy playing it. Stardock I know will continune to in better their games, it is worth picking this one up.
