Lack of skippable dialogue lines kills this game for me. Everything else is brilliant. Having to sit through every line being enunciated by voice actors is unnecessary tedium.

Silly but perfectly enjoyable old-school adventure, whose most important grace is its nearly absolute focus on inventory based puzzles.

This is just a solid Resident Evil game with four campaings instead of one. There are nice set pieces, fun bosses and a lot of cool gunplay. The crossover plot is an interesting touch; at times I found the intertwining moments to be clever and amusing, at other times they were repetitive and tedious. In my view the game remains fun all the way through, but there is no denying the fact that there is a lot of repetition as in each campaing there is a mix of unique locations and of traversing locations present in other characters' campaigns.

Probably the best boomer shooter that I have played to date. The arsenal is incredibly varied and fun, the game is lengthy and violent, and never outstays its welcome due to great level variety enhanced by the game's over-the-top ambiance oozing from the screen at every moment. Music, graphics, controls - everything is perfect also on the technical side. One thing that I did not like so much is cultists' aim. It seems to be working as a hitbox that immediately activates when they see the player - it is impossible for them to miss, 100% accuracy. This leads to some quicksave-spamming being sometimes necessary. Other than that, it is an utterly perfect shooter.

The game relies on unique mechanics and twists them along the way by adding puzzle variations to the main theme. It was very difficult at times, and personally I gave up on the level where you use the fungus to steer rockets, but that is my problem. The game is an indie gem for sure.

The second game in the series has cemented my opinion that I love this franchise.

Feels like a tech demo.

I didn't really mind the change of pace but it needs to be pointed out that SoD is much more linear than the base game - it is arranged as an orderly progression of areas and chapters. I also didn't particularly like some slight modernized elements in the DLC. That said the base game play was fun and engaging, and I was really happy with many of the new inventory items added in SoD.

It was nice to return to Baldur's Gate after playing the original ~20 years ago. I am a total sucker for remasters of classic games (e.g. everything that Nightdive is doing). This one is done exactly right - vast improvement of graphics and interface without disturbing the core gameplay. Base game is as brilliant as ever. My only slight qualms are with Siege of Dragonspear. Zeno Clash is a game that I beat only because I forced myself to do it. Quite quickly I got a bit tired of its combat mechanics and it was not really 'fun' to go through it. What kept me going is the wonderfully unique visual style and offbeat atmosphere.
I would say it's enough to play, and enjoy, the game.
