I am a 52 year old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my son, who is now 16. My son recently started Earth Defense Force 4.1 The Shadow of New Despair and in less than a week, he had already played for over 12 hours. This was terrible for me, as it was already hard enough for me to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching videos on Tiktok. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, did the tutorial but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought my son and I closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories

THIS GAME CAME OUT IN 2012 OF COURSE ITS ABANDONED BY THE DEVS. Game was great back in the day, only thing 14 year old me did and itll never be a let down. The Community Project is great, adding functional multiplayer is awesome because now me and brother can play it whenever and wherever. mods are still supported thru Mod.Io via direct installation/steamDL conversion. For what the CCCP Devs are doing nearly for free, its very great and I think as much as Data Realms is entitled to the money from each purchase I almost want to say so are they. The CCCP team have done good work maintaining this game for the enjoyment of old time players and new comers alike and that shouldnt go unrecognized.

All the hours for this game are from my dad. Love you Pops, sorry I didnt know the value of the good times you were having.

The best game ill ever play and the one of the first things ill be remembering in the last moments of my life. this game was given me and my brother hours of endless joy.

i said some bad things to my mom and dad, they grounded me for two weeks when i was seven years old. I mean its like, obviously if you read the bible, there's broader definitions of that...I think I killed a chicken, I did that by accident. I was kind of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
