Early Access Review
Love the game, just wish it had co-op like Vampire Survivor's - I'm perfectly content with the Steam Remote Play Together solution VS has.

Would basically just take a local-coop mode. :D

Great game regardless.

My recommendation is to take the game for what it is.

Grab the game and the two actual content-expanding DLCs. Select between 2-7 mates. Apply gentle peer pressure so they rightfully ignore all the inconsequential bellyaching. Start the first open-world planet on Hard and in the recommended starting area. Do not look anything up, and swear your mates to do the same.

And have an absolute blast cooperating, communicating, struggling, and sharing both small and big successes along with the failures and catastrophes.

Will it be entirely jank or bug-free? Hell no. At this point it's basically part of the survival crafter charme. And in my, at review time, ~22 hours it is kept to a minimal level.

Obviously I would still heavily recommend waiting for some sort of sale, as I can not deny the price-tag coloring my opinion. However I started out with the base game and the Styx Expansion. I do plan on picking up New Frontiers as well before the sale is over.

EDIT: In light of recent review-bombing over balance changes, that a literal dumb, blind and deaf toddler could've seen coming from light years away, I also need to adjust my review.

Great game, great fun, the only pro-consumer live service game on the market right now.

Part of the community is great, the people that actually prefer to play the game instead of impotently shouting into void of the steam review forums. The whiny-ass, short-sighted and obviously absolutely clueless rest is sadly what you see on display here.
Maybe try using actual flames, not a glorified roman candle.
Fire damage is absolutely fine and still absolutely wrecks, 40+ kill streaks on a single stratagem every game is how i know. As for fire not melting heavies being "unfun", you know because large armored masses of bio-material catch fire as easily and spectacularly like a California wildfire.

Just do me a favor and uninstall the game so I don't have to have the misfortune of dropping with you.

DEMOCRACY, LIBERTY, FREEDOM.
Freedom requires Firepower.

Still the undefeated King of -tide Games, and will remain as such for the foreseeable future. With a little help from full-fledged updates and brand-new content SIX years after initial release. Fatshark are truly the undisputed kings of releasing half-baked and feature-incomplete Games in their tried and true fashion of one-step-forward three-steps-back game development.

BUT they always end up being absolute bangers regardless. Highly recommended.
