It's a good game for the amount of development put into it, but it could definitely stand to have further stuff added, such as real enemies instead of Bloons TD like colored blobs. I got the game on sale, but I do not think full price is worth it for the little amount in the game. With that said, it's good for what it's worth.

For some reason I missed out on the original until a couple of weeks ago. A friend told me about it and told me retold was coming out. I did have the original in my steam library but for some reason I never got around to playing it, so I tried it out and loved it, and retold is even better!

I like typical classic RTS where you gather and manage resources, build armies and defenses, and go out and eliminate the AI (I am not big on PVP.) As such, I love StarCraft 1 and 2, WarCraft 3 Reforged, and also Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. My same friend tried to get me to like Beyond All Reason, but I don't know, I just can't get into it. I don't care for auto generating buildings, I like to manage and see my peons go out and collect finite resources, then take over the next base, and do it all over again.

Retold already has a good modding community. I used double pop cap increase on houses. It worked well. The first game I played was vs 11 FFA AI and I used Loki, and I had 2 Ttians and 6 Dragons at the end of the game, which took 2 and 1/2 hours. The only complaint I have is that it was really hard to find the last AI alive's market on the map. The final 30 minutes of my game was just searching for the last building. I had to squint my eyes to see if anything showed up on the mini map, and the last building was peach in color and was hard to tell apart from gold mines on the map. All in all a solid 9 out of 10 for everything except I cannot comment on the music because almost every game I play I like to listen to spotify so I turn off music.

I have played this game since 2021 when it was on itch.io and i bought it. I have seen several iterations of the game but this one by far is the best. I liove factory and automation games, and this game is fantastic. I was gifted a steam key because of my itch.io purchase.

It has so much to offer in terms of things to do and build and craft. The look and feel of the games graphics is really good, and the UI is very intuitive. There is one thing I cannot figure out and that is a mod for blueprinting which is not the fault of the dev, however i wish blueprinting was incorporated into the base game. Maybe in the future, but you cannot go wrong purchasing this game if you are fan of factory and automation.

I cannot really say anything negative about this game, and it's one of the only games where I keep music on. I tend to turn off music for most other games as I like to listen to Spotify when gaming, but Final Fantasy Music is iconic, so I keep it on.

The game is diverse and still going strong, hell if it keeps my attention for longer than a few hours, I consider it getting my money's worth, and I have far more hours also on PS3/4/5 then on Steam.

There are so many ways to play, from various classes to professions, fighting styles, dungeons and raids, so many things to do, you can almost get overwhelmed but if you have ADHD like me, the diverse things you can do keeps my attention until I want to do something else in game.

I do not have many games I play that I have over 100 hours into, and this is one that I have 100+ on steam and more on Playstation.

The music, the graphics, the systems, the UI, everything gels together nicely in this game.

I like the game quite a bit. I like the little things like hitting F once to mine a node or rock or chop a tree, not having to hold the key or repeatedly press. I like the building system. I like the motorcycle but often times I run everywhere because I like to mind and chop and loot and I abhor having to get off the motorcycle to do that and then get back on and keep going. I like the teleportation system.

What I do not like is the fact that as a PVE player, we are subject to the same 60 day wipes. I do understand it though because if there were no wipes, building would be a huge PITA for new players. I do hope in the future the devs put out the ability to make our own servers or to have dedicated servers.

I also was informed in game that the first rift boss in the missions you do, I needed to team up. Well I am mostly a solo player so I did not team up, and between my crossbow and my cradle pet (I forget what they are called lol, variations? idk) I managed to take down the ravenous something pretty easily.

I plan on buying the battle pass today and maybe some of the store currency as well. I think the game is worth supporting since it is free to play. I know there were concerns of only being allowed ONE character per account until august, but they already implemented the change for that, and they also addressed the information they seemingly collect, saying that only in instances where it is necessary and it is legal to obtain an ID copy to verify age and such.

All in all a good game. I have not run into any bugs or glitches (yet) but I have had cases a few times where something was not explained properly, such as the rain collector.

To me this is one of the best AC games of all time. While sailing and raids seem to be more at the forefront of the focus and the actual assassin in AC seems to be a secondary focus, the game is still awesome and has some of the best combat and game play in my opinion. I think I have read that this could just be a pirate game and it could have left the AC out of it much like Valhalla could have been a viking game without the AC part, and while that may be true, that does not mean the game isn't awesome. 10/10 and I haven't even finished the game. As I am writing this I was watching the Starz show Black Sails season 1 episode 1 for the first time and it put me in the mood for Black Flag.

So far I am really enjoying Soulmask, I played a bit in solo mode before joining a boosted PVE server.

The game is solid and the mask system is unique, recruiting followers with the mask reminds me a bit of Shadow of Mordor / War when you sway an orc and / or interrogate him. Then the recognition system, reminds me a bit of Ark where you tame animals, only you are sort of "taming" new followers.

I really like the task / orders system for the follower. This reminds me of many Colony Management games (such as Rimworld) where you have the task / job system only this is in a 3D Survival game. I also like how in the order system you can use your map markers as center points for work for the followers.

The graphics are sollid, though a couple of times when I went to mysterious ruins I did have a bit of a stutter when loading in. I have my graphics on high and i have a 3 year old gaming laptop that is still relevant (32GB Ram, RTX 2060, 1TB SSD) for most every game, albeit Starfield does run horrible on this system and in order to play THAT game I have to sub to xbox pc gamepass and play it through the cloud to enjoy it. Other games like Star Wars Jedi Survivor run fantastic. But I know it's time for an upgrade probably within the next year or so, but I digress, you aren't reading this review to listen to me talk about my specs and games my laptop will ruin. Sorry.

So the building system is awesome and I love that you can either dismantle or retrieve building pieces. It makes sizing your base up to be bigger a lot easier because you can get those pieces back. I also love the upgrade system. I upgraded all my thatch chests to wood, you just have to have the wood chests in your inventory. I also love filtering the chests. I only wish chests had a broadcast system where you can craft FROM the chests without having to have the resources in your inventory. Palworld has this storage system and it makes things much easier on the player. Especially when you start reaching your weight limit.

I cannot speak for any in game music, be it biome specific or battle music, as with most every game I turn music off because i like to listen to my spotify. The only games I keep music on are Star Wars games, Final Fantasy games, and Lord of the Rings Online. These games have iconic music and it is not to be missed.

The other systems of this game I like are the one you open with T, the system you spend points to unlock recipes and stuff. It's a pretty standard system in games with recipe unlocks in them, and it fits into this game well.

I also love deploying a follower and having them follow me when I am going away from the base. The only thing I wish is you could set a priority that once you get an enemy outcast low enough to where you can "mask" them the follower would stop attacking them. I was in the middle of masking an outcast and my follower finished him off. I am sure there is a Function Key to do this but I wish you could just set a priority that once an enemy is below 20% they stop attacking, and the target is humans, not animals. I also have not tried having more than one follower deploy with me, not sure if that is possible or is one at a time. It would also be nice if there was a notification in chat that a follower's tool(s) are all broken and tells you so you can immediately go to that follower and get their tool(s) and repair it / them. I did give each of my followers 6 tools so it takes a while before they break all of them. I wonder, If i put those tools needed in a chest will they auto get a tool when they have none.

All in all this is a great game, pretty unique with the mask system. I am loving games where NPC's you "recruit" can fight for you, work for you, etc. I am loving this genre and am looking forward also another game with a similar style called Aska which releases on the 20th. It's a Viking survival game and i plan to play that as well as Soulmask for a long while.

Thanks for reading my review. If you are on the fence about this game, don't be. If you like colony management survival which is what I call this, you can't go wrong with buying this game and playing it.

Cheers!

I have gotten to the part in the missions where I have to find cotton to make yarn to make thin rope. I googled where to find it so I can easier locate it in game. It seems it's going to be found near outcast camps and ruins, the bigger ones that are not the "mysterious ruins." so that is going to be fun.

I bought the game back in 2018 and played for 90 minutes. It was rough around the edges and a lot newer to Early Access. I uninstalled and have not touched the game since.....until recently. My friend talked me into joining an unofficial PVE server. I have been playing quite a bit since then and have been enjoying the game a lot. The hordes don't even bother me, you can run away once you hear the scream and avoid the horde. I see discussion posts and reviews where hordes will spawn on top of the player, I have not had that happen.

I don't even mind dying and losing my stuff, the early parts of the game are exciting. Crafting a bow and backpack and arrows is fun, and the excitement of not knowing what you will run into is great. Do I hate spawning several sectors away from my base? Yeah, it can be a pain in the butt, but you also get to explore areas at the same time that you might not have otherwise explored. Right now I have a negative 4500 balance and yeah, that sucks, but overall the game has great amounts of realism with just the right amount of apocalyptic fantasy mixed in. It's a learning curve for sure, but it's not an over the top learning curve. The game is not for all, and take it from me, where my favorite game is 7 Days to Die which I have over 4900 hours in, it is not easy to draw me away from that game and hold my attention longer than a couple of hours, and this game has done that. Kudos to the devs and I cannot wait to see what's in store for 1.0!

This game was good already pre-overhaul. Me and 3 friends had a grand time playing. Then the amazing dev did an overhaul of most everything in the game and it's even better! Me and two of the same friends played recently for a few hours and the new systems and UI are spectacular. The zombies are plentiful, the loot is too. The building system is great, the crafting is superb, and the references to pop culture such as Grohnks Math Problems and First Order Helmet are fantastic! And as of this review the game is 75% off! It's already worth full price because you will definitely get your money's worth, but at 75% off it's a zombie no-brainer!

I am only just now getting back into this game. "I have no memory of this place" was exactly how I felt as it's been well over a year since I have played, but I saw Jedi Survivor is on Game Pass which I have subscribed to, so I decided to take this back up and try to finish it.

The game is all that you expect the Star Wars property to be. Big battles, liughtsaber combat, great soundtrack, a cute little droid, a ship, a fantastic story, there is nothing wrong with this game at all, and you would be missing out if you chose not to play this. It's well worth the price tag.
