Wacky, charming, fun and very japanese, Katamari is a not-so-hidden gem from the PS2 era. The remake works and plays great on the Steam Deck, complete with the series trademark terrible controls. The entire game is pretty short, most of the replayability consisting of just beating high scores, finding hidden presents and completing infamous challenges like rolling over the biggest possible cow without touching any other cows.

Despite all that, playing it from start to finish feels like a wonderful fever dream that's hard to recreate: the soundtrack is amazing, the levels play out like an edible Where's Waldo page and the only objectives you're required to advance in the game are generally pretty chill while still requiring your focus.
