It's rare that I play a game for anywhere near 100 hours, but I've sunk well over that into Destiny 2 since its release. The core mechanical feeling of the game is unmatched, and the endless objectives make it easy to lose a day in the game.

All of this is enhanced dramatically when playing the game with a group of friends; not only is the gameplay unrivalled by most shooters, but Destiny 2 also manages to be one of the all-time great social games. From running simple quests and strikes to unlocking secret areas and coordinating large groups for a raid, Destiny 2 is easily one of the best co-op games that I've ever played.

That isn't to say there aren't flaws; the story can be a bit jumbled, there's some over-reliance on ultra-grindy quests that can feel more like a job than fun, and there are layers of obtuse UI and objectives that make constant googling a necessity. But even with that in mind, I haven't found another game over the past few years that's consistently managed to keep bringing me back without ever feeling old.
