Day 1 DLC and microtransactions on a $60 game. Why did I buy this? A decade ago, publishers would have called this an extended playable demo and it would be free. And if you liked it, you'd pay full price for the rest of the game.

People would have fun mastering the special end moves. People would learn the characters by playing through with each of them to unlock different characters and suits. . . . . Now, instead, you're supposed to just pay extra for anything.

Why are people supporting these tactics?

Oh I see! Yeah the Goro DLC is pretty insulting, he's an iconic Mortal Kombat character and he belonged in the game without being locked behind a paywall. The Premium content (the Kombat Pack) is a season pass so the content hasn't actually been made yet, though they probably shouldn't announce DLC so soon. The Sub-Zero skin is pretty ridiculous also.

Then a few days later, a subzero skin. I'm sure there's more to come within a few days. They don't want to release everything at once.
