Fantastic addition to one of the best franchises ever. It is everything good about Warband plus everything I ever thought it lacked. Updates are slow but they consistently validate that the game is headed in the right direction. Several small mechanics are a bit broken or you can tell hasn't had the full attention it needs to be fun / feels more of a placeholder (smithing*cough cough*) but even in the early access state it is the game is already one of the best games I've ever played.

A solid game. The mechanics make it great. The story, writing and immersion are a bit too silly if you are looking for depth on par with Baulder's Gate or Pillar of Eternity. But honestly they got the combat and multiplayer down pat. I can't want to see what they do with the new Baulder's Gate IP with Wizard's of the Coast level writers. :O

I am so happy they have done this.
They took a solid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game model and did nothing but add to it, taking nothing away.
Its a classic LAN style party game like the world hasn't seen in years.
No complaints and looking forward to new content as the game progresses

Yikes what a let down.

They had alot of live up to compared to Civ V and I actually think they made alot of REALLY good moves. Many of the new mechanics, if explained in theory, make the game sound very exciting but in practice they just don't do anything for the game. Its so hard to put your finger on why when I played Civ V I could easily get lost in the game feeling like a fearless tyrant at the head of a great warmachine or a bonevolant diplomat engineering world peace. I just cant get there with Civ VI.

First off, The AI is VERY dumb.
Example, The year was ~1800, Greece had been a friend of mine for about 700 years, They were on some far away island I rarely interacted with. They suddenly they wage war on me. A few turns go by and a lone greek spearman shows up on my shore, I bombard him from my city and easily kill him. Greece sues for peace and gives me all their GPT and gems for 30 turns and go back to loving me... Like seriously wtf? (I understand the public and secret motivations mechanic but it fails miserably to make realistic diplomatic relationships..)

The Districts are a neat way to spread out your city but they just feel like a chore to build and god forbid a rogue barbarian raids your district and you have to wait 300 years in game time to repair it.

The religeon has a combat system now and I was insanely excited at first to become a pious pope type and wage a holy war sending wave after wave of missionaries to far awar lands until you're finally the dominant religeon on earth and you realize literally all that effort awards you pretty much nothing... How can they have such cool ideas and let them fall so flat?

If you're winning this game is just clicking through your turns bored and if somehow you are losing it never feels like you've been out maneuvered, its usually just because the inexlicapley stupid AI all decided to declare on your at the same time for no apperant reason or gods of RNG have placed you in some barbarous anarchy nation.

I keep reminding myself that Civ VI took two xpacs to get truly awesome so I wait... I sincerely hope I can come back and change my review.

EDIT: Two xpacs in and no such luck. The AI is still bumbling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that just build thousands of low level troupes and never use them for anything other than JUST TAKE UP ROOM. Half the continent is warriors from some ♥♥♥♥-splunk Viv in the stone age because they apparently forgot to build anything other than warriors. They released an xpac to have weather before they addressed GAME BREAKING AI. My god. This is the death of a franchise.

This game is a masterpiece hidden among all the millions of crap survival/crafting/mining games. Its pretty much the only one I have played thus far that gives the option of "If you can think it. You can build it."

This is one of the most difficult games I have ever played. It requires the most precise mouse movements I've ever seen in a game. So lets this be a warning to any noobs that think beating Ninja Gaiden makes you some sorta pro, this game with destroy you. I found it helps if you are using a Cathode Ray Tube monitor from 1992. The dialogue is really deep. Everytime Putt-putt asks me what game I would like to play I get chills and the relationship Putt-putt and Fatty bear share is simply heart warming. You really feel a connection to them almost like you have real friends. Careful though because it can be very addicting. If you are prone to vice, this game is like heorine compared to World of Warcraft. This game has been known to take peoples' lives away. All and all, this game makes me regret owning any other steam game because for all the time I spent playing them I could have been playing this. 1000/10. Buy this game.
