TL;DR - Fantastic game for anyone who loves story/melee games like dark souls, bloodborne, sekiro, etc. Overall rating - 9.2/10

To start off, I just wanna point out that my save file was lost after 15 hrs straight playing (right before the last mission) and I restarted on the hardest difficulty from the beginning of the game and finished it a day later. That's how good this game is. Take dark souls, sekiro, and star wars and you have jedi fallen order. If you like that type of game, you will love this one. If you're still not convinced, I will break the game down into 5 categories to individually rate- combat mechanics, progression and exploration, level design, characters and story, and finally the replayability.

1. Combat mechanics - this game did an excellent job on this section. It is smooth and relatively easy to grasp, but still with plenty of room for variation and personalization in the way you take down enemies. Rating - 10/10

2. Progression and exploration - The game puts you on a clear path in terms of story progression, but there is still plenty of room to go back to previous areas to explore things you may have missed and pick up on some customizables that you would’ve otherwise missed out on. I personally am a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff, so I went back and fully explored each planet before completing the story, and it definitely had an impact on how overpowered my character was compared to my first run at the game. Rating - 10/10

3. Level design - Each and every planet you visit is unique and has different ways to explore and go about progressing the story. There's fun puzzles and secrets to uncover that will have you sinking hours upon hours into exploring every part of every planet to get that sweet checkmark proving you’ve done so. Rating - 10/10

4. Characters and story - I’m not the biggest star wars nerd out there, but I’ve spent my fair share of time looking into the lore of the universe and from what I can tell, this game does an excellent job of creating a new story that is lore accurate. The story is the one part of this game that is far superior to similar games (as it should be with such a strong basis for the game) that will have you actually invested in each character and their arcs. Rating - 10/10

5. Replayability - This section is the only place I cannot give the game a perfect rating. The game has plenty of playtime, and you will definitely get your 60 dollars out of it just from the first run through, however there isn’t much to do after that. I wish they would have implemented a feature like NG and NG+ etc. from the dark souls games to bump up the enemies difficulty and maybe throw some more collectibles in there, but I can understand why the storytelling may make that difficult. If you do wish to replay the story, it may be frustrating or tedious at times to sit through every cutscene that you’ve seen before, and the relative lack of difference in approaches to the game will make it get stale. Despite this, I will reiterate, you will get your money's worth out of the first playthrough. Rating - 6/10
