It's a charming little video game full of life!
A simple RPG which I remember playing years ago as a demo, and then rediscovered today in its final form.
I really enjoyed the story, the various interactions between the characters, and the graphics were quite different from the type of game I tend to play. 2.5D rocks!

However, a few black spots permeate this experience for me:
- If you're looking for a challenge, this game is not for you. I don't think I ever was in any serious danger during the game, except when I once toyed around with a specific bad equipment in a very specific part of the game...
- At the end of the game, you can still save after the game's final 'point of no return', but if you save over your game, you cannot go back to complete side quests you may have missed! I've unfortunately fallen into that trap, so be careful not to!

Overall, the game was a lovely experience I'll keep among one of my favorites, and I'll be waiting for the content update that'll come in the future!

I'd love to like the game, but I quit playing it a couple times already because the game wouldn't save when I tried to quit to get my daily reward, which means I of course lost my daily progress. I'll let you guess what happened yet again as I'm writing this message.

I'm also not really a fan of promoting the creator's Twitch channel for in-game rewards either, even more so when said stream is completely unrelated to the game. I'm not playing this game to be redirected to a Diablo Immortal stream for a reward! And it's not like you can remove it either, it's kinda in your face at all times whenever the dev streams.

Besides that, the game has always felt very sluggish, and you need the game to be constantly running to get anything going. There's no pin spawn if the game isn't open, which is a shame, really, since it's the bread and butter of the game, even more so when you have absolutely awful drop rates for essential pins, forcing you to keep the game on for days to get anywhere, which, no, isn't normal for an idle game!

With all that, while the game seems interesting, I can't really recommend it for the aforementioned reasons. If the game ever changes in accordance to the gripes I found, then I may change my review. However, given the other reviews I've seen of the game (negative or not), I'm afraid it may not happen.

This game is charming, I've had a good time going through it.

The game's pixel art is excellent, and it has varied environments with a good ambiance overall.
I only played the game in the highest difficulty and I don't regret my choice.
The addition of a lot of art, and even an entire comic(!) really adds to the game, even more so if you're interested in the lore of games like I am.

If you seek a (rather) short but fun adventure, grab this game!
There's a lot to do, and many things to see!

It's a hard game.
Its puzzles are hard, sometimes hints leading to them are very vague and hard to decipher.
The professor's jumps are hard to master, making it hard to judge distances.

But hell, this game is great.
Despite everything, I pushed on and on and on, and I was rewarded greatly.
This game's soundtrack is a complete banger, and the story is incredibly rich, with stone tablets and archaeological facts absolutely everywhere for you to enjoy.
It feels great to see a hint for a specific puzzle, then find where you have to apply it.

I'm going to warn you, though.
This game isn't for everyone, and it will only appeal to people crazy enough to take notes on EVERYTHING the game sends toward you, with the exception of archaeological facts, they're displayed differently on screen.
If you want to take this game on, be ready, it's a hell of a ride, even more so if you want to experience everything this game has to offer, including some stuff not meant for the human eyes.

It's too bad you have to choose between a positive and negative review, because I'm more set on a mixed review on this one.

Pros:
- Goofy world with many charming characters.
- Cartoonish graphics that really goes well with the world.
- Battle system keeping you on your toes.
- Sticker system allowing you for a lot of bonus customization.
- Good choice of different characters when you start a new run, with a few roguelite elements.

Cons:
- Each run look the same after you play like five of them: there's just not enough elements to make sure runs feel 'unique'.
- The dialogues also lack a bit of variety, after a while you just don't really care about what the characters say, you've read it all.
- Even in Hard mode, I found this game quite easy, I beat it on my fourth try.

I've known this game since its release, and it's come a long way.
It was very rough around the edges when it was released, and I'm glad to see they added new elements to make it more fair and balanced.
I really like the principle of this game, but I feel like some stuff is still missing.
Even though some stuff has been added after you beat the game, I feel like it's still a bit lackluster, but again I didn't really have the patience to do absolutely everything: I stopped playing after winning two times in a row.

I still think the game's worth a try if you like roguelites and goofy worlds, but if you're here for replayability, I'm afraid this game isn't for you.

Very good little game! I enjoyed my time with it!
The pixel-art is great, and the story is well done.
Some places were a little upsetting like some platforming related to the second world, but other than that I really liked the game! :)
The battle system makes me think a bit of Mario and Luigi games in a sense, and it's a kind of battle system I'm really fond of.

This game was an adventure from start to finish.
It may be a bit hard to grasp at first, but once you get the controls down, it's really nice to play.
The story is alright, some characters are very good (and damn, the voice acting on some of them is outstanding enough to make me consider MYURRRDERRR).
The game may lack of difficulty for experienced players, but the DLC Seal the Deal got your back if you seek a challenge.
Finally, this game has an active community, and it embraces it well thanks to its wide modding support.

All in all, I can only recommend this game, even more so if you like an old 3D Mario game released on GameCube, which this game obviously inspired itself on.
