Update:

Sony have backed down from requiring users to create a PSN account in order to play. The game still has some bugs to iron out but is overall fun.

That said, the community managers need some work. Seeing as this is a heavily community-driven game, it's a rather important point to have community managers that can avoid bringing their personal issues into the public when representing the devs.

-------------------------
Original post:
At time of setup I was given the option to link a Sony account with it not being required. Well, I don't have a Sony account and don't want to bother with it. Sony has a track record of data leaks, selling user data in general, and are now actively working toward using AI to censure users with an ever-changing and vaguely-defined set of rules as to what is and is not allowed even jokingly between friends. Note, Sony can even ban access to your game(s) for things you say/do outside of their games.

Further; Community managers openly being antagonistic toward players is unconscionable and has unfortunately been a trend in their team. While Arrowhead seem to have tried to course correct this aspect, it seems to be a pervasive issue that is being given a band-aid instead of directly addressed. This gives me the impression that such sentiments are part of the staff in general instead of a few bad apples.

Addendum:
Sony's own site regarding account linking for PC games stipulated that account linking was optional, but was changed to say that it may be required for some games.

They have also been more vocal about tracking biometrics of their players in order to better track them. Your personal information will be used to ban you across multiple services if they deem you have broken their arbitrary ever-changing rules on top of being sold to 4th parties.

Early Access Review
Takes me back to playing a flash game galled CRUSH that we snuck on the school comupters when we weren't busy running NES games on Nesticle loaded off a 3.5 inch floppy. Only 90's kids will get it. The Castlevania theme and music is rad too.

Pros:
Old-school difficulty without the new-school nonsense.
Does what ninten-don't.

Cons:
No cow level (though there is a dairy plant)

Get it if you aren't a huge square. What's the matter? Chicken?

Even better than I expected. Rich story with a lot going on in not only the plot, but also the combat and with little details here and there.

The crafting is a bit 'meh' though.

The new payed mods are already downloaded to your PC, tkaing up space but unable to be used. It's not a big deal now... but over time, this will clog up your hard drive with useless garbage.

An update was pushed out that focuses progression on unlocking crates. If you want specific gear, be prepared to grind for weeks to cobble together what you need before even getting to try the bot design in question. Even if you do pay into this game, the RNG will give you crap after crap. I'd avoid this one.

It's a shame, before the Epic Loot update I felt good climbing up the progression chart and earning the currency needed to buy the parts I wanted... but no more. Ah well.

Ruined by the Siege of Dragonspear update. Oh well.. it was good while it lasted I suppose. Time to crack open the old CDs for the standard edition from back in the day.

-buggy as all hell
-crap IU
-WTF writing making Minsk anti gamergate?

Look.. I don't care if the devs are pro or anti gamergate. Sticking a reference in here about gamergate is just... crap writing. <sarcasm>I'm sure no one will find the reference to gamergate dated.</sarcasm>

An otherwise fantastic game ruined by a crap 'upgrade' studio. Avoid it and other games by this studio like Tucker's kobolds.
