I'm proud to say that I've been gaming in different forms for as long as it's been around. I remember being stunned when I first saw Elite on my friend's BBC micro in 1984, so much so that I eventually bought the computer and the game from him. I also tried Elite Frontier and Frontier First Encounters, but was disappointed with the Newtonian physics - now David, I understand what you were trying to do there, but if everyone understood rocket science, then everyone would be doing it. :)

In the meantime, however, I was able to content myself with other, derivative games like Elite TNK, Freelancer, etc. until I stumbled across one called Oolite - I won't go into detail here other to say it was the most realistic and faithful to the original version I'd seen for many years and could be played on minimal hardware.

Fast-forward to when my main machine finally died. For a few days, I was forced to use a Raspberry Pi as my main machine until I received some totally unexpected help from a friend. "Right," I said. "I'm off to finally get a decent gaming rig." So, off I went, and here we are!
