Attention all Blender users
Some of you may have heard of the open-source 3D software "Blender". If so, you also most likely have heard of the popular "meme" of deleting the default cube, originating from a variety of tutorials deleting it just to insert a new cube shortly after.

Unfortunately, many people still think this is merely a light-hearted joke of the community which is messed up once you understand what the default cube actually represents. I'm not sure if Ton Roosendaal himself understands what the default cube means.

In the book 'The Cult of the Default Cube: A Saturnian Grimoire', the default cube represents the dark prison dimension that the malefic and cruel Saturn deity is trapped (basically the chaotic hell realm Saturn/Satan is trapped in). The book states that the cube is both Saturn's prison and their throne.

A quote from the book:

We might ask why the Saturnine deity would prefer a Default Cube as an icon. The answer, one might suspect, is related to the earlier statement that the Saturnine deity is a remnant of the primordial Chaos, which was cut/severed from Chaos when the cosmos surged into being. The Cube symbolizes the cutting, in that its straight edges and angles are clearly artificial and non-natural. The Cube also represents the maiming and constraining of Saturn, and the prison dimension (Tartarus) to which the deity is confined. The Default Cube is simultaneously the prison and the throne of the dark god.

Apparently, there are rituals that magick practitioners perform where they are able to briefly release Saturn from this cube prison. The book states that Saturn requires blood sacrifice and recommends that if people have ethical concerns over blood sacrifice then they should not work with Saturn.

Please keep this in mind next time you start a new project in Blender and delete the default cube, always.
