Great visuals, but terrible optimization.
Running on 13700K 4070 Ti. Heard it runs even worse on comparable AMD despite being made for it.
Can't believe it still doesn't have DLSS as of the time of this posting.
Gameplay is really good, classic Bethesda but really polished.
Main quest is trying to do something revolutionary, but is just pretentious and mid. Side quests are better.
See what your performance is on a free trial of Xbox Game Pass before you buy.
Don't wait around for Todd Howard to admit the performance is crap.
But I do recommend it. Despite my complaints, it's just as addictive as any Bethesda game.

AltspaceVR used to be a social VR platform, and could be described as an optimized alternative to VRChat. That is not the case anymore. Your options for self-expression are limited for performance reasons revolving around the Oculus Quest/2. AltspaceVR no longer supports any technology that deepens immersion for the same reason. Today, it is a platform focused more on events, and is more akin to something like The Wave XR, Engage, or Mozilla Hubs. I believe in that category, it is the leading app.

To best enjoy Altspace you have to find events you want to attend regularly or start some yourself. Events that work well on AltspaceVR are small music events, any kind of keynote/presentation style events, church apparently, and pretty much anything static where all users are looking towards a stage.

I would say something about the community but the community is always changing. Sometimes I'll be in the campfire and there's mature people to talk to. Lately though I keep running into kids that are trolling and shouting the n-word. In your own events you have excellent moderation tools to deal with this problem.

Because of its events focus it is perfect for corporate use, meetings, and music events so long as you're not doing any crazy light or screen shows like you can do in VRChat and Sansar. I host Open Mic in there and it works great for that particular format. It is a very static place, and it will probably stay that way.

I do not recommend the game as an alternative to VRChat, Rec Room, Sansar, etc. In the past I would have but this is just not a platform that allows for user creativity and expression on that level anymore. And there are no interactive experiences beyond picking up an object and throwing it.

I can only truly and in good faith recommend this game as a VR alternative to Discord or Slack. I also recommend this game for older people and/or people who suffer from epilepsy or motion sickness. As I said, the whole game is very static so there are not going to be any surprises.

I really can't stand COD but this game plays like it and is in a lot better setting. The damage is fast like hardcore in COD, you can't really take a lot of bullets. It took me a little while to get decent coming from some casual CS playing but once I figured it out I started enjoying it a lot. The abilities and being able to share them puts a really interesting spin on the matches and they're all counterable so it stays pretty balanced. If you get used to them you can really ♥♥♥♥ people up. You might feel cheapshotted though if a sprinter runs up and guts you though.

I wouldn't give it a 10/10 but I have seen people in chats say "it's like Call of Duty, but good", and I think that's a very fair description of this game. Could use some work in the levels. Character design is A+ and live up to their anime counterparts. Needs some more graphics optimization but that must be coming because some options are greyed out in the settings. It'll be interesting to see just how much it improves when they come out of beta.

I remember seeing some complaints about this being a shooter and not having much to do with Ghost in the Shell, but there are objective based game types that hold some relevance despite no backstory. The GitS theme is great for the abilities and everything but those complaints hold some merit as GitS, while it did have a lot of action, is a heavily philosophical series and an investigation/action type game would probably make more sense. But this isn't as poorly done as say a Fight Club fighting game (which exists unfortunately).

Just get the cheapest pack and try it out.
