Nice to explore, but the story is boring imo. Would recommend it for 20ish € tho.

BF2042 made me appreciate BF5

Thanks to my EA Play subscription I was able to test this game about 10 hours (*) and I came to the conclusion, that it is just embarrassing.

First of all, the performance sucks. I get around 80 FPS on a 3080 Ti and a 5900X on UWQHD, even with DLSS. Battlefield 5 have better graphics imho, and I get about 200 FPS *without* DLSS.

Then gameplay-wise it's a huge step back from previous Battlefield games. The point-system is so whack, you don't even get proper points for supporting your mates (healing, etc.), there's no scoreboard and the buildings in cities looks like Lego.
The specialists destroys the whole team play, which doesn't exists anymore. Their jabbering at the beginning and the end of the matches is so childish, it gave me chills.

I was very hyped for this game, because the setting is really promising and I thought EA and DICE learned from the BF5 desaster, but it is not the case.

I don't have hope, that they'll fix this game, It would need years and I think it become the same fate as BF5, eventually they'll drop support for it after 1-2 years, to take their "effort" into a new game, like they did with BF5 and Battlefront 2.

Don't buy this, the boomer managers at EA have to feel that they can't get away with something like this.
This game is meant to sell, not play.

* I preordered on Steam, but played the 10 hour trial on Origin, because EA Play is included in my Xbox Gamepass. That's why my Steam playtime is less.

This is literally the best story game I've ever played.

Also I must admit, as a fan of Greys Anatomy, Markus is a gorgeous cast.

In my opinion, this is the best software for testing GPU overclocking and undervolting.
Especially Port Royale is a very nice test for Ampere cards.

Unfortunately this game runs very badly on following system configuration:
- Ryzen 9 3900X
- RX 5700 XT (Nitro+)
- 3440x1440px 100 Hz FreeSync
- 32 GB RAM
- Game installed on SSD

It does not matter what graphics settings/resolution I use, the GPU load does not exceed 30~ percent load, also the CPU isn't the bottleneck (I mean, how could a modern Ryzen be that?), because even if I assign this game only 1 CPU core, it doesn't even exceed about 40 percent CPU load (per core of course). So it seems like there is a huge optimization issue. The FPS was average at about 45-50 on lowest graphics settings, but the 1th percentile was a lot lower i would say.

Also I got very bad motion sickness from this game, because the mouse movement is very sluggish, even with disabled VSync (what I never use, nevertheless) and disabled mouse acceleration.

Please investigate performance issues on RX 5700 XT graphics cards, CPUs with many cores and high resolution configs. My wife can play this game alot better on her RX 580 in FHD, but also with lowish graphics settings... I find the possibilites for the graphics settings very poor to be honest, IIRC you can't even disable the motion blur.
As a occupational IT specialist I tried everything to run this game fluently, without success.

I can't play this game under this circumstances, so I had to apply a refund.

Looking forward to buy this game again when these performance issues are fixed, because the gameplay is EPIC. I'm not the only one reporting this, so please do something.

Don't wonder about the play time, I used to play this before with an friend's account, and hoped the performance issues are fixed by the coop update...

Runs perfectly fine now on my RTX 3080 with a stable 120 FPS @ 3440x1440
